  • Ep. 7: What Robin Hood Taught Me
    2022/08/10
In today's episode I'll be talking about the beautiful city of Nottingham- its SNOTTING history and what to do and see while you're there (Hint DON'T listen to TIK TOK). I’ll also be sharing an interesting conversation I had with one of Nottingham’s most famous residents, Robin Hood. Over the course of 700 years, the outlaw from Nottingham who robs from the rich to give to the poor has emerged as one of the most enduring folk heroes–and one of the most versatile. But how has the legend evolved over time, and did a real Robin Hood inspire these classic tales? You have to listen to find out! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/emily-rochelle/support

  • Episode 6: Emily in England
    2022/07/17

I'm so excited to finally be back on here and to share with you a few things about England. There is SO much to talk about, so today is going to be a brief overview.  I’ll be talking about my personal experience as a solo traveler jumping (or maybe slowly dipping my toes) into England as well as my top 5 things here I have a love/Hate relationship with here. It’s a little bit of motivation and a little bit of humor, so stick around until the end.

  • Ep. 5 Crossing Borders with Courtney Miskell
    2022/06/16
In today’s episode I have the pleasure of sitting down with my best friend, travel companion, rodeo queen, and master scuba diver, Courtney Miskell. You’ll hear us talk about our 10 day trip to the Middle East, which began with an impromptu 12 hour excursion in Barcelona. You’ll hear Courtney talk about her conversion to Judaism, how that played a significant role in her experience, and how visiting Palestine gave her a deeper understanding of the conflict that exists between the two places. We will end by detailing what it took to cross the border between Israel and Jordan, and the amazing undeveloped scenery that awaited us on the other side. Though the sound quality is not the best (sorry, still learning over here) , and you can hear us getting a little more inebriated as the night wares on, this was one of the most fun episodes to make. It really showcases the benefits of traveling with a buddy. Not only is there safety in numbers, but travel buddies can help you get through the tougher moments of a trip and then remind you what happened later.  --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/emily-rochelle/support
