Society has travelled a long road to accepting nudity. It started in the eighteenth century with women being able to show a bit of neck, then the nineteenth century, where women were allowed to wear skirts revealing their ankles, then the twentieth century came along, and as the decades crept by, skirts were shortened, necklines were plunged, to the twenty-first century, where some cities allow women the right to walk topless down the street without a care in the world. Some might say this is due to the feminist movement, and yet others say that the human body has been displayed enough that people are desensitized to nudity. What ever the answer, one thing is sure, many people suffer from low self-esteem, body dysmorphia and a host of other psychological problems because humans are taught to be embarrassed of their own bodies.
