In this opening episode, Stu, Jez, Dan, and special guest Martin Woodgate explore the build-up to the show’s debut in November 2019. In this episode, Dan sits down with Johnny Goose, a Star Wars collector who’s been at it since the mid-1990s and has built an astonishing collection along the way. Johnny’s focus spans five distinct vintage figure runs, anchored by a truly most impressive centrepiece: an extensive lineup of carded Darth Vader figures, alongside a dazzling array of Vader-related items from beyond the toy aisle.

Johnny takes us back to his earliest Star Wars memories as a child in the early 1980s — from seeing a double bill of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back with his nan and two bumper Christmases in ’82 and ’83 packed with Star Wars toys.

From there, he charts his collecting journey: rediscovering his childhood toys in the mid-’90s, finding his way into online collecting communities in more recent years, and attending seven back-to-back Echo Base Live events.
