The child's body was discovered in a pond at an office park on May 11. Police responded to a disturbance call near the King and Queen towers, where they found Calabrese-Lewis in a distressed state. When the child's father arrived and inquired about the baby's whereabouts, the mother stated that the child was deceased in a pool. First responders searched the area and found the girl's body in one of the ponds. The child was taken to Children's Hospital of Atlanta at Scottish Rite but was pronounced dead. Calabrese-Lewis is currently held at the Fulton County Jail, facing charges of felony murder and child cruelty.   STORY 2. Dolls   11-year-old Zoe Oli from Sandy Springs is the CEO of Beautiful Curly Me, an Atlanta-based company that offers a diverse line of Black dolls. Her goal is to inspire confidence and empower young girls to embrace their natural curls. Beautiful Curly Me recently ranked third in Barclays US Consumer Bank's "Small Business Big Wins" contest, earning a $20,000 cash prize. The competition received over 14,000 qualifying submissions, and Beautiful Curly Me was selected as a Top 10 finalist. The company features three Black dolls named Bella, Anika, and Leyla, all with names that symbolize beauty. Zoe's entrepreneurial spirit at such a young age is remarkable and showcases her commitment to promoting representation and self-love.   STORY 3:  Law Clinic ***Audio Defying Gravity*** Fulton County Probate Court, in partnership with the Gate City Bar Association, is organizing a free Community Law Clinic to offer residents consultations in criminal and family law as well as probate estate planning. The event will take place at Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta on May 20 from noon until 4 p.m. Legal professionals, including representatives from Probate Court, will be present to provide information on various legal services such as probate estate planning, criminal law, personal injury, family law, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and tenant rights. The Gate City Bar Association, the oldest African American Bar Association in Georgia, aims to support Black lawyers and their clients through education, social engagement, and community involvement. Chief Judge Kenya Johnson of Fulton County's Probate Court is dedicated to assisting those in need….. We’ll be right back   Commercial  - ESOG-  Elon   STORY 4: Homicide   The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the remains of two men found in Chattahoochee Hills. The individuals have been identified as Jason Salter, 39 years old, and Kenny Guerra, 35 years old. Salter was identified on April 15, while Guerra was identified on May 4. The men were last seen on February 25 and were reported missing to the South Fulton Police Department. The Hapeville Police Department and East Point Police Department also participated in the investigation. The Chattahoochee Hills Police Department requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) after the remains were discovered on a farm on March 11. This sci-fi/fantasy tale draws inspiration from Greene's childhood experiences exploring the woods of south Fulton. Set from the 1800s to the 1980s, the story revolves around the women of a strong Black American family and their encounters with a unique family tree that is not really a tree. Described as a coming-of-age story, the novel takes place in a fantastical southern ecosystem where humans are not the dominant species. It combines realism, history, and nods to African, Cherokee, and European heritage. The book explores the dimensions of a Black American family's life while navigating their realm with Enisi, a superior tree-like mentor. ...
