Seaside Pod Review (A Queen Podcast)

著者: Kevin Brown Randy Woods
  • サマリー

  • Kev and Randy take to the mics once a week to talk about a song from the catalogue of the enigmatic, brilliant, and sometimes flawed rock legends Queen. Each week a song will be chosen at random so that the boys won't know what track they'll be reviewing. Kev comes into the podcast as a Queen afficionado, while Randy is a more casual fan, but has a huge wealth of knowledge about recording, performing, and music in general. At the end of each episode, both will either upvote or downvote the song and we'll take to social media to see what the listeners think!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Listen you lot! Listen you lot! We've got another episode for you - as you can tell because you're reading this. There's a bit more jibber jabber up front than usual, but it's all very information, very well thought out, and completely planned, so don't skip any of it, OK? If you skip the first twenty odd minutes you'll miss out on a secret to success that could change your life, the lives of your children, the lives of your children's children, the lives of you children's children's children, and so on and so forth, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And you wouldn't want that, would you?

If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Neptune of the seas" or possibly, "Is there enough time for peace?"

Today's episode looks at another Freddie classic and anchor of the Sheer Heart Attack medley, "LIly of the Valley"

NOTE: Skip forward to 23:45 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is on of Kev's titled, simply, "America". Seems somewhat appropriate at the moment... https://youtu.be/lmPOZ6ZE090

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to the last episode and left us some comments on Facebook, Bluesky, and Discord! And while we're at it, come join us on Discord, we'd be glad to have you! We'll always try to answer any questions you have and seriously appreciate any corrections you make to anything we get wrong. And thanks so much for all your support as usual. We're loving diving into the Queen fandom as much as we're enjoying recording the podcasts!

Tack piano, thimbles, vocals toto loco, thieving magpies, Yamaha C7s, weather reports, and NO BRIAN MAY! That's what's in store for you this week and also Kev and Randy field questions from Barry John Williams aka Alice's Dad, and our good pal Ruddy "Mike is my Dad" Rutherford, who both want to know what our inside leg measurement is and where to find the best scotch eggs in Wimbourne for some reason... (OK I may be lying about the last part). Get this in your ears, now!

If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Inland disunite" or possibly "One of the best songs of all time"

Today's episode looks at one of the Queeniest of all Queen songs and the track that gave our podcast it's name! That's right, it's time for "Seaside Rendevouz"!

NOTE: Skip forward to 16:23 if wanna get straight into the manifestations and wheel spin.

The song at the end is Randy's answer to the recent US aggression towards Canada. If you wanna take us on, better get your fucking elbows up! https://youtu.be/0PzEi_2oycU

  • Script for a Jester's Tear

Ballast Woods. Flin Flon. Minequakes. Average athleticism. Consensual Minotaurs. Max Martin. Pink. Fifth members of Queen. It's all going on in this week's episode along with some rather excellent original R&B from Kev! Humpt Bong indeed... what a ridiculous band name! It's a long one folks, but it's the longest song we've covered to date by a good couple of minutes, so y'know!

If Kev were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "What do you call a Fish with no eyes?", or possibly, "Fsh...."

The eleventh episode in this podcast-within-a-podcast covers a song submitted by our pal Tom Boje and is a song that Kev knows very well; the title track from Marillion's 1983 debut record, "Script for a Jester's Tear".
