Just ten months earlier, both teens had survived the Columbine High School shooting. They were part of a community still trying to heal… still trying to move forward. That night was supposed to be simple. Nick was finishing his shift. Stephanie had stopped by to wait for him. But sometime between closing time and just before 1:00 AM… something happened inside that restaurant. A coworker noticed the lights were still on.
