  • Welcome to Season 2 of Shifting Perspective(s)
    2021/05/12

Hey friends, welcome to another season of shifting Perspectives podcast. My name is Sia & I co-host this podcast with my husband, Tommy.

We are excited for another Season & we hope you are also. To our previous listeners, we would like to thank each of you for being part of the shifting Perspectives family. If you’re a first-time listener, welcome to the family. Please subscribe check out other episodes.

Our podcast brings to light conversations that our culture deems to be “taboo.” As African children, most of us were not raised to be expressive about societal issues such as parenting, relationships, marriage,  mental health, disabilities, religion and everything in between. We use this platform to talk about these topics that many of us grew up staying away from because we truly believe someone out there might benefit from it, and it’ll spark conversations all around. We ourselves love reading your comments and learning from you. So, we are looking forward to interacting with you on our social media platforms.

Wow!! I don’t think I can beat that, but I will try. Anyway, we want to pause and reflect on 2020 and 2021. It’s no secret that covid-19 has impacted all of us either directly or indirectly. Many of us lost our jobs, our businesses crumbled our livelihood, and sadly family members.  Some of us have not seen loved ones since last year, and it’s been an emotional journey.

If you’ve lost anyone during this pandemic, our heart goes to you and the rest of the family. Continue to be strong. And if you are an essential worker, thank you for dedicating your time to serving us. You are a hero to many of us.

  • Should You Share Your Past With Your Current Partner? || Episode 10
    2020/11/27

As if life couldn’t get more complicated, sometimes, we are faced with having to decide whether we should share our past relationship history with our current romantic partners or not. The bigger question here is, should you share your past with your current partner about your past relationship?

To some of us, it is a simple yes and end of the story. However, it's a complicated journey that's full of many added layers. We sometimes wonder which pieces of information to share, when to share them, and most importantly, which details are relevant to our current situation and which components are not. Join Sia and Tommy as they discuss a simple but complicated topic that's full of many twists and turns.

Also, if this is your first time here, please follow us on Instagram and like our podcast page on Facebook. Many thanks for considering our request.
