On episode 35 of LINZanity, Greg interviews one of the greatest director, writer, producer and voice over artists in the history of animation movies, Conrad Vernon! Conrad has been involved in every animated movie you know and loved for the past 25 years... Conrad directed Shrek 2 which made $930 million dollars!... He also voiced the Gingerbread Man in all the Shrek movies... Conrad directed and produced Sausage Party with Seth Rogan... He also voiced 6 characters in the movie... Conrad met Seth Rogan (Bob the Blob) while directing Monsters vs. Aliens... Sausage Party: Foodtopia, the tv mini series, is coming out in 2024 on Amazon and Conrad is executive producing it... Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill and Evan Goldberg pitched him the R rated animated movie, Sausage Party to direct...He had always wanted to direct an R rated animated movie since seeing Heavy Metal as a kid... Conrad directed Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted... He also voiced Mason in all the Madagascar movies... Conrad directed and produced Addams Family and Addams Family 2 movies... He also voiced the iconic role of Lurch in those movies... Addams Family 2 was made completely and remotely from everyone's home who was associated with the movie because it was made during the pandemic!... Animation directors are not in the Director's Guild so they don't get residuals on their movies... Most storyboard artists also write gags and dialogue for the movies they work on... The difference between animation storyboards vs live action storyboards... Conrad originally wanted to be an animator... Ralph Bakshi was his mentor and taught him the ropes in animation... When pitching the Gingerbread Man to producers as the storyboard artist, he used a funny voice and they liked it so much, they hired him to play the role... It's tricky voicing characters in video games because you have over 100 lines of dialogue to say without any direction on how to say them... Greg voiced three voices in an animated movie called A Cat's Tale... There have been three actors, including Conrad, who voiced Lurch since the 1960's but only the other two actors had been in either a Star Trek movie or Star Trek TV episode...
