Hello, and here is the news. Our Guest President this week, leading the members Tony Slattery’s Rambling Club, is none other than news anchor extraordinaire Simon McCoy! Come and join in as guest President McCoy runs free from his television news cell and leads us on a ramble through three special destinations chosen entirely at random with the use of Tony’s enchanted bingo machine. As ever, the omniscient voice of Sir Stephen Fry is on hand to keep a hand on the tiller of the boat of incompetence.

First stop is destination number 390: Customs, Etiquette and Folklore. That’s an odd combination to start with. When it comes to etiquette you can be sure that the former Royal News Correspondent of Sky News will have a tale or two.

After that number 432 awaits- German Etymology. Nobody present can speak German ( and we don’t count Paul’s “over the level crossing”). This could be a bit tricky.

Finally we find ourselves at number 532- Specific Celestial Bodies. Simon has bought telescope. Off we go…

After all that it’s time to head back down the garden path to Tony’s shed, the roaring fire providing welcome relief after quite a ramble before President McCoy must be resealed in his studio.
