Today Lord,.

I feel you stirring in the innermost recesses of my soul. I feel the churning of your spirit and I am listening.

Invite me into the secret place of your counsel that I may k.now your heart in the coming days.

Set me in place that my feet can not be moved. Protect me from the terror of the night and the arrows of the day. May I find refuge under the shelter of your wings.

When there is coldness , draw me into the flaming burden of your heart, that I may share your tears.

When there is hardness, melt me with once glance of your eyes that I may be pliable clay in your hands.

When I hesitate, reach for me with your scared hands, that I may see and believe and know.

When I feel outside, show me the place you prepared for me in our Fathers House.

Teach my lips to speak truth.

Unite my heart to serve you.

Keep my gaze steady and fixed that I will not waver in the coming storm.

Open my ears to hear the sound of heaven as I walk the roads of Earth.

May I carry with me always the oil and the wine as I tread upon the Bloody Way that is my own Jericho Road.

Give me eyes to see the alienated and perishing brother and sister in the ditch.

Train my hands for war.

The real war against a lukewarm and apathetic spirit.

May I give willingly when redemption is costly.

Clean hands,

Pure Heart

Open Eyes

Strength in the innermost part of my being.

I ask this today, Lord. All for today.

Today,

I will remain present. I will not check out, instead I will check in.

I will feel all that is asking to be felt, heard, seen, embraced, forgiven, released, and acknowledged.

Today,

I remind myself that eternity has been placed in my heart so that I may know the Divine Love that surrounds my life.

Today,

I remind my soul of its truest inhabitant. Christ.

Christ in me, is perfect peace, perfect love, perfect joy.

Christ in me, is hope eternal, unwavering faith, unlimited mercy,

Christ in me, is life abundant, life expectant, life enjoyed.

Christ in me, is will surrendered, will relinquished, will given to the Father’s plans

Today,

I let go of yesterdays failures, regrets, missteps, and stumblings.

Today,

I look upward, and forward, and outward towards the promise that ONE DAY.

I will be whole. Complete. Lacking Nothing. Perfect. Spotless. Radiant. Tear Less and Joy-full.

Today,

I will watch and believe that mercy and goodness follow me as I walk in the friendship of grace with my myself, and with others. Giving to others what I desperately need

A reciprocity of space to be in the mess. A companionship of soul.

Lord,

My soul Is heavy,

My eyes are downcast.

My feet feel as though there is no place solid and safe to set them.

Be my rock.

Be the lifter of my head.

Be the solid ground upon which I stand.

I need you to remind my soul the wicked will not prosper forever.

I must remember how close you are to the broken hearted, how near you are to the afflicted, and how you hear every cry of the oppressed.

You champion the poor, and long to do good to those who seek your face.

Remind me how you rebuked those who would forbid little children to be held by your arms. You said such were the kingdom of heaven.

So, I stand before you today for the children Lord.

Hear the cry of the oppressed in every factory, sweat shop and labor camp in which their tender lives are lived in crushing toil to feed the greed of nations. Help me to be satisfied with less, that my wants would not be satisfied at the expense of their innocence.

Hear the cry of the trafficked child torn from home and given to the lusts of men. Rescue them Lord. Heal their soul. Restore for them family, safety, love, Help my eyes to see the signs and help my hands to reach. Give me courage to advocate against a culture of perversion.

Hear the cry of the silenced, shamed, victims walking in the midst of our churches, our cities, our schools. Give them a voice Lord. Give me ears to hear.

Suffer the little children to come unto you today, for such is your kingdom, forever. Amen

Good Morning Lord,

I need you.

I need you as so many others do today,

to show me how present and real you are.

I need you to quiet the anxious thoughts and the stammering lips of my mutterings,

To remind me, that in stillness, is my strength.

You order the sun to rise,

The moon to move through her seasons-

The stars to stay fixed in their place.

You will order my steps and my days with the same grace and compassion and intention.

I am yours.

Nothing can take me out of your hand, not even me.

My name is lovingly spoken on your lips.

Let me hear it.

Remind my soul of the treasure stored in higher places than this earth .

That all my longings will one day find their satisfaction as I see you face to face.

In you and to you and through you are all things.

Help me to trust the truth you are showing me about who you are and who I am in you.

I love you Lord,

Thank you for coming near today.

For listening to the voice behind my words.

For the transformation of your friendship and the power

Your peace brings in the face of the storm.

It’s Saturday Lord, and I need you.

I need you to wash over me like the waves I’m standing in front of.

I need to feel all of your breakers,

Crash, and dance against me.

I’ve come to the water longing.

Longing to stand on the coastline of your love.

The only thing big enough to hold all of my questions,

All of my fears…all of my tears.

I long to breathe in your presence

and feel the wind move in my lungs.

I stand in the presence of your long suffering heart.

You never grow weary, you never tire of my petitions,

You hear my cries and my call for help-

And you answer me, like the morning answers the night.

With promise of fresh mercy, fresh bread, fresh presence.

A new song in my heart.

I stand on this coast line and let the white cap of your fingers

Sweep across my aching heart.

You take what I lay down here and you tumble it in your love.

Until you return it back to as a treasure-

Of shell, or glass, or polished stone.

Stay with me today, the way the sound of the ocean stays-

Ever breathing against the shoreline.

A steady, and willing embrace.

It’s Monday Lord, and I need you.

I’m standing here asking to be reminded of the tenderness your presence brings.

I don’t need to strive or push my way into your love.

You are waiting to enfold my heart in the truth, that I am being made into your

image of beauty and perfection with every surrendered yes towards you that comes

out of my weak lips.

Thank you for being kind, and patient with all the places of hesitation in my soul.

You are showing yourself to be the champion I have ached for my entire life.

Your faithful answers to my heart felt, desperate cries for help, teach me what it

means to be joined to you in agape love.

A love that reaches towards the lowly and raises them up.

Thank you that you will not break a reed that is bruised, nor will you stomp out a

flickering wick.

Help me to love others this way today. Gently, openly, and with transforming

compassion.

Help me to give to you every wrong done against me.

Every secret offense.

Every selfish ambition.

May I yield to the beautiful grace that surrounds my life, and rest in your

friendship.

It’s Monday Lord, and I need you.

I need you like the earth needs the rain falling outside of my window right now.

I need you to penetrate every dry and sorrow baked place in me.

I need you to quench the soul thirst in me. I need to hear the tender mercies drop like rain on the tin roof of my heart. Reminding me you are my shelter and my song.

The earth does not push against the falling rain

She opens and yields and surrenders to the downpour.

This is how I long for my soul to be to your presence Lord

Open, yielding and surrendered.

So, come sweet Spirit of God and soften me until puddles remain upon my surface

that reflect your golden rays.

Come rain down on the hidden and untouched places of my inner most being that have been thirsty for so long.

Come and be El Rohi, the God who sees me in my desert wandering.

I know I have only to speak to the Rock that follows my wanderings

So, I ask Lord.

Water from the rock.

Rain from the sky

Mercy like dew.

Supernatural supply for my very natural need.

Fall, like rain.
