  • Buffalo Bills Biggest Week 10 Takeaways (Plus Milano's Returning Soon)
    2024/11/12
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways from Week 10 after watching the film and going over grade analysis of the Bills 30-20 road victory at Indianapolis on Sunday to improve to 8-2 on the season. Part of Patrick's early focus is highlighting the effort of two low key players who's worth ethic and under the radar contributions are a big reason why Buffalo's won eight times in 10 tries so far this season. Dorian Williams showed off his best trait (speed) and hustle to prevent what would've been a Jonathan Taylor touchdown run, with the play ultimately saving the Bills four points. On the other side of the ball, Mack Hollins stepped up big with both Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman out with injuries, hauling in four passes for 86 yards, by far his best game as a Buffalo Bills. Patrick also talks about the Bills getting away with game that was far from Josh Allen's best and dives into some of Allen's gaffes. Part of the reason the offense was still fine was the effective physical nature of James Cook. Also the "everybody eats" mantra extended to the defensive side of the ball as well. Four takeaways by four Bills defenders, not to mention six different defenders had a tackle for a loss. Patrick discusses being impressed with the Bills defense being more aggressive this week and clearly opportunistic each time the Colts made a mistake--speaking of which there's a breakdown of some of their biggest that made the game less stressful than it needed to be. That plus Matt Milano should be returning soon (!), a few quick hitters, some comments on the Buffalo Sabres after a frustrating matinee loss and much more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. • Defense Carries Buffalo Bills in Indy (Instant Live Reactions)
    2024/11/11
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to talk about the defense carrying the Buffalo Bills to a 30-20 road victory at the Indianapolis Colts to improve to 8-2 on the season and set up a showdown with Kansas City next Sunday in Orchard Park. It wasn't the prettiest game for the offense, not by a long shot but it didn't matter because Buffalo's defense was more than up to talk. Taron Johnson had a pick six on the Colts first offensive play of the game and the defense finished with four takeaways plus a key fourth down sack. The guys talk about the unit's mostly dominating performance, forcing three Flacco interceptions and a strip sack by Greg Rousseau that led to a Damar Hamlin fumble recovery. They also held Jonathan Taylor to just seven yards rushing on five carries on the second half after Taylor had 107 at halftime. It came on a day when the offense wasn't particular sharp, mostly understandable given they were down Keon Coleman and Amari Cooper coming into the game and lost Dalton Kincaid to a knee injury in the second quarter. Josh Allen threw two interceptions, both pretty ugly and also missed on a wide open Kincaid for a would-be touchdown. That said, he still threw for 280 yards and ran for 40 more while orchestrating a nail in the coffin 13-play, 84 yard drive following Taylor Rapp's interception to put the game away. Joe's got plenty of thoughts on Josh Allen's game, big picture things with the Bills and tons more. ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. • Bills vs Colts Preview & Bold Predictions (Plus Sabres Heating Up)
    2024/11/09
It's a surprise bonus Saturday episode of Talking Buffalo and Patrick Moran has a Buffalo Bills vs Indianapolis Colts preview, keys to the game and bold predictions for it alongside some commentary on the see-saw Buffalo Sabres once again heating up. Typically throughout the NFL season we use Fridays as the the official Talking Buffalo preview episode for the Bills. However, Patrick hosted University at Buffalo football star Shaun Dolac live from Imperial Pizza on yesterday's show. That made Patrick compelled to a bonus episode in large part to be able to preview this Sunday's Bills game, a contest Buffalo's favored to win by four points and should be a competitive game. The Colts are 4-5 on the season but four of those five losses were to great teams. They've made the switch at quarterback from youngster Anthony Richardson to the ageless veteran Joe Flacco. Patrick goes over their offense, which may or may not have star wide receiver (back injury) on the field Sunday. Regardless, the Colts don't lack weapons and Bills fans know Jonathan Taylor, who ran for over 200 yards on them a few seasons ago all too well. They also feature Alec Pierce and his NFL-leading 22.9 yards per catch and a very stout offensive line. Defensively the Colts are pretty middle of the pack as whole but have a trio of potential game wreckers at their disposal: defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, linebacker Zaire Franklin and cornerback Kenny Moore. Patrick goes over his three biggest keys to victory for the Bills, including the safeties having an impactful afternoon in helping to stop Taylor. From there it's bold predictions time and guess what folks----Dalton Kincaid is going to have his best game of the season! That plus a final score pick and more. Patrick also spends a handful of minutes talking about the Sabres, who smacked the New York Rangers on the road Thursday night, 6-1 and have won their last 2 games by an 11-2 margin. This comes after losing three in a row, which came after winning three in a row. It's been an inconsistent first 14 games for Buffalo to say the least---does Patrick think this team is now turning the corner? That plus some reflections on Dolac being on Friday's show and much more! ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast Substack: Patrick Moran’s Substack Twitter: @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices.
