Talking about Coaching & Psychedelics

  • サマリー

  • Does what it says on the tin: We're talking with leading practitioners about the meeting points between coaching and psychedelics, how they can work together to help clients achieve growth, insight, learning and personal or professional development. We've recognized that beyond the power of psychedelics to be used for healing, fixing and the treatment of disorder, disease and suffering, there is a space for coaching, but nobody is talking about it, which we believe to be at best unproductive, and at worst dangerous for clients. That's why in this podcast we explore best practice, introduce integration methodologies, discuss ethical issues, and generally share resources, knowledge and experiences, as well as raising questions, concerns and awareness. Our mission is to take important conversations into the public domain so that established coaches can maintain or expand professional standards, new coaches curious about this work have access to important questions and information, and clients who may be seeing a coach to assist their psychedelic journey learn what coaching in this field might entail. We work to help keep clients safe and inspire coaches to deliver the best work they can in this powerful but very much emerging new field.

In this episode we’re talking to the Co-founder and CEO of www.psychedelics-integration.com, Andres Rose, as well as two of the platform’s lead practitioners, coach Vismay Agrawal and therapist David Londoño, about coaching & psychedelics.

Andres Rose, originally from Uruguay, is the Co-founder and CEO of psychedelics-integration.com. He moved to Germany six years ago in search of a new life, pursuing a career, independence, and fulfillment. A highly goal-oriented individual with a background in business and startups, he also has a personal interest in psychology, history, and philosophy. Despite his achievements, including a German Master’s degree and extensive travel, he felt empty and struggled with anxiety and mild depression. His journey towards self-discovery began with his first psychedelic experience with LSD, which offered new perspectives but didn't resolve his issues. Skeptical of therapy, he explored more psychedelic experiences, leading him to an Ayahuasca retreat in Northern Europe. His first Ayahuasca experience was profound, providing insights through metaphors that required careful interpretation. This journey marked a significant step in Andres's pursuit of personal development and self-understanding. Now, he is eager to help others navigate the challenging path of finding clear and trustworthy support in the world of psychedelics.

David Londoño is a Colombian psychologist, psychotherapist, and integration specialist with 20 years of experience in traditional Indigenous medicines. He lived in the Peruvian Amazon for six years as part of his training to deepen his knowledge of psychotherapy, traditional medicine, and the bridge between the two. He has coordinated therapeutic teams in treatment centers that work with master plants and has trained staff in integration practices. As part of the ICEERS team, he coordinates the Support Center that offers integration sessions to people from across the world who have challenging psychedelic experiences. He also teaches courses on integration, ethics, safety, and good practice in the therapeutic application of master plants in non-traditional contexts.

Vismay Agrawal is an australian-based psychedelic coach who has facilitated over 60 one-on-one private guided psychedelic retreats and has worked with the Synthesis Institute and Psychedelic Insights, renowned providers of psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands. He has explored altered states of consciousness through experiences with various psychedelics, including psilocybin, 5-MeO-DMT, ayahuasca, DMT, MDMA, salvia, and ketamine. Additionally, he is a mindfulness coach with over 2,000 hours of personal meditation practice, guiding hundreds of clients on their mindfulness journeys. Vismay is also pursuing doctoral research at the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies, focusing on understanding suffering and its underlying causal mechanisms. His interdisciplinary research integrates insights from contemplative traditions, cognitive neuroscience, psychedelic studies, and psychology to deepen the understanding of suffering and its alleviation. Through his diverse experiences, Vismay has realized that psychedelics are not magical pills for instant healing. While they may offer profound insights in a controlled setting, enduring changes only come with integrating these insights into daily life.
