  • The Dual Nature of Jealousy: Harm or Help?
    2024/11/04
Episode #7: The green-eyed monster. The possession potion. Love's little insecurity... no matter what you call it, jealousy can not only hinder intimacy, it can outright destroy a relationship. Most of us have been there. We've either been on the receiving end of a jealous lover, or we WERE the jealous lover. No matter what side you were/are on, jealousy isn't all bad. I know. I know. "But Bobby, jealousy is never good!" Au contraire mon frère (or however the French say that). Yes, unchecked jealousy is a poison to any relationship, but jealousy is also a sign for both people involved to take a closer look at things to communicate and work through some issues. Is this an easy thing to do? No. Will there be vulnerability, possible disappointment, and tears? More than likely. But on the other side of that difficult conversation is freedom and deeper connection. Bobby V and Stephanie talk about jealousy and the ways it hurts and helps relationships. What about you? Have you noticed that jealousy is a common theme in all (or most) of your relationships? Let's talk! Find us on all our socials here: https://podcast.show/tangledhearts/

  • Episode 6: The GPS Got Me Lost… In Someone Else’s Bed!
    2024/10/26
Oh, the cheaters in the world. Where would we be without you? No drama. No watercooler gossip. No judging your relationship against the relationship of Jan whose husband was caught with her evil twin sister at the family bbq last Sunday. What a boring world that would be, right? So, all kidding aside, cheating is serious business. We know that... better than you can imagine (that story to come in a future podcast soon). The pain. The embarrassment. The sheer horror of it all, and if it's happened to you, you know what we're talking about. It does, indeed, feel like you're in a horror movie. In this episode, we talk about cheating. What, exactly, is cheating? Why do people cheat? Is there life after cheating? We explore all that and more in this episode of Tangled Hearts! By the way, do YOU say "all of A sudden" or "all of THE sudden" and where did you grow up?? We MUST know the answer!

  • Episode 5: Dating an A.I.: When Your Soulmate Needs a Software Update
    2024/10/18
Ok, I'm a big enough man to admit when I need help. I needed a co-host in a bad way. Well, I got one! My beautiful wife, Stephanie, has graciously (and by "graciously" I mean, she's agreed to do it on a case-by-case basis... and if I don't piss her off too bad) agreed to by my co-host! So, if I'm being honest, Episode 5 is the REAL Episode 1 of Tangled Hearts. Don't even bother listening to the first 4 episodes. They're trash. It's ok. I know they are. You can say it. But now I have a co-host and I understand how podcasts work now (no, no I don't. But I try). And I think we're just going to get better from here on out! In this episode we talk about falling in love with an A.I. app. No, I don't mean our obsession with ChatGPT writing our emails and texts for us, I mean, there are actual A.I. apps you can buy that will be your girlfriend/boyfriend... even spouse! I do have to say that we do talk a bit about suicide (or "un-aliving" as my kids call it now for some reason). If you have thoughts of self-harm, please know that you DO matter and people DO love you. I've been in that dark spot and thank God I had people rally around me in my pit and just sit with me. You do too. If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, there are several resources in the U.S. that offer support National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Phone: 988 or 1-800-273-TALK (8255) Available 24/7, providing free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention, and crisis resources. Crisis Text Line: Text HELLO to 741741 Offers free 24/7 text support with a trained crisis counselor. The Trevor Project (for LGBTQ+ youth): Phone: 1-866-488-7386 Text and chat options are also available at their website: The Trevor Project Provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people. Veterans Crisis Line: Phone: 988 and then press 1 Text: 838255 Confidential support available 24/7 for veterans and their loved ones. SAMHSA’s National Helpline Phone: 1-800-662-HELP (4357) A confidential, free service for individuals and family members facing mental health and/or substance use disorders, available 24/7 in English and Spanish. Local Emergency Services: If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. These resources provide support, listen without judgment, and can guide individuals to the help they need.

  • Episode 4: Let’s Talk About Sex Pt. 2
    2024/10/18
Well, the first 4 episodes of Tangled Hearts used to be hosted on another podcast hosting service and, well, we moved... and forgot to move Episode 4 before we did. Ooops. My bad. But I saved the audio and because I'm lazy and just don't want to go back and listen to the whole episode again, you have to deal with my random description here. BUT, as you will see in Episode 5, Episode 5 is the REAL Episode 1. I actually talk my beautiful bride into doing the podcast with me! So you don't have to listen to my voice drone on-and-on by myself anymore! In the meantime, Episode 4 I continue talking about sex... I think. Possibly. I'm not 100% sure anymore. But you're going to start listening at Episode 5 anyway, so it doesn't even matter.
