But the mountain of emails addressed to Lucinda Barth with ‘High Priority’ consumed her attention and whittled away the remainder of the Day Light Hours. By the time she looked up from her laptop, it was 8 pm and the window had gone dark with accented flickering lights from the city skyline. Instead of feeling reenergized from a great workout and almost able to fit into her tight skinny jeans, her hair was a mess and she felt like she’d swallowed a ball of fur. Her weekend plans to wear the jeans to the Dive Bar up the street in hopes of getting a date, looked bleeker and more dismal by the moment. The way she felt, sweatpants were the more likely attire.
