    2024/11/08

It's Season Two of The AHL Pre-Show! Andrew Rinaldi and Deanna McFeron are back to preview the upcoming week of American Hockey League games. Along the way - our hosts are sure to provide you with a healthy dose of chaotic energy, pop culture references, and everything in between as they break down the weekend action ahead.

The crew cap off a crazy week of AHL action. Utica's winless start has them on the look for a new coach. The Laval Rocket's red glare is lighting up the north division in all sorts of different ways. Ontario's Samuel Fagemo clearly tuned in to last week's episode - he and the Reign blew up offensively over the weekend. The crew even talks over a trade with big AHL implications!

Who's got the best hockey name in the North Division? Do we have a spoiler from the Pacific? The All-Name Tournament continues this week.

Finally, the crew goes over the big upcoming matchups of the week. Are the Eagles going to get some reinforcements before a big series with the Barracuda? Can the Moose establish an identity against a tough Texas team? Will Providence ever stop Bruining it?

It's the hockiest hockey to ever have hockeyed, and you can catch it all this week on TAPS.

Last week's talk of fun names and fun vibes got our hosts thinking: who has the best hockey name in the AHL? Blade Jenkins? Waltteri Ignatjew? Andrew and Dea can only think of one way to resolve this: tournament style. It's simple: each team has one "best" name submission and only one can hoist the Calder Cup of Names. Each week the hosts will debate until only the best hockey name in the AHL remains.

The crew follows up bracketology with the preview of the week's games. Andrew does more apologizing for dunking on the Barracuda, but the San Diego Gulls can't escape his wrath. Dea thinks Laval and Providence could turn the clock back to the 90's, and who is line to keep up their October momentum into November? The weather is getting colder but the action on the ice is just starting to heat up!

Along the way - our hosts are sure to provide you with a healthy dose of chaotic energy, pop culture references, and everything in between as they break down the weekend action ahead.

The crew goes over some big names coming in to make their debuts this season. One comes with a couple of Stanley Cup Rings (looking at you, Connor Sheary) while a couple others in the Pacific Northwest look to break through the lineup. (Arshdeep Bains and Erik Brannstrom on line 2).

While Dea does some investigative work on the upcoming Hall of Fame class, Andrew breaks down the beauty of Coachella Valley from National Parks to a beautiful round of 18 holes. Enticed yet to get in on the All-Star Game festivities this February?

Lastly, Andrew and Dea break down the schedule coming up. Joshua Roy leads the Rocket in the Space Race against Utica while Sheary gets his first look in a Crunch uniform against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Did someone say Crunch? No, that was just Boko Imama crunching someone else on the boards. Who wins in the race of the running man this week? Tucson and Abbotsford will decide whose mascot is faster in a high-flying matchup you don't want to miss.

The Western Conference Finals are in full swing, with Chris Driedger and the Coachella Valley Firebirds firmly in control of the series. With a 3-0 hole, what can Zach L'Heureux and the Milwaukee Admirals do? Well, besides getting kicked out of a few more games in this series. Andrew and Dea try to find the keys to a Midwestern comeback to add some real drama to what has felt like a dull Conference Final roundup altogether in the AHL.

TAPS is back for another week of magic numbers and magic vibes. Join your hosts Andrew Rinaldi and Deanna McFeron as they navigate the playoff stretch of AHL action.

It's all Western Conference action this week on TAPS. The forecast called for Reign, but when have we ever known a meteorologist to be accurate? The crew break down Chris Dreidger supremacy and what Coachella Valley did right to sweep away a very good Ontario team in the Pacific Division Final. The Admirals strike back at the Griffins and look to be commanding play as the series goes on. Can a Swedish meatball turn the series around for Grand Rapids? Does Coachella Valley have a preference of a team to play in the Conference Final? Does it matter?

TAPS is back for another week of magic numbers and magic vibes. Join your hosts Andrew Rinaldi and Deanna McFeron as they navigate the playoff stretch of AHL action.

On to the next round! With the Division Finals kicking off, the TAPS crew digs in to check in on the upcoming series (and the ones that have already kicked off). Coachella Valley and Ontario (the California one) start off with the Reign's first loss this postseason, but should they even be worried yet? Cleveland and Syracuse look to put some sand in your eyes, and that's just the way Jet Greaves likes it. With Hartford losing goaltenders left and right, do they stand a chance against Hershey? Did they ever? Grand Rapids and Milwaukee get it on in America's heartland with the Griffins opting for quality over quantity. No time for predictions in this one, but the storm is brewing. Who gets into the Conference Finals?

TAPS is back for another week of magic numbers and magic vibes. Join your hosts Andrew Rinaldi and Deanna McFeron as they navigate the playoff stretch of AHL action.

Round two is underway! You thought Coachella Valley and Calgary was going to be a goaltending battle, didn't you? Andrew and Dea discuss exactly how to wrangles a firey bird. Speaking of goalies, Dylan Garand is bringing Halloween to May in Providence as he absolutely haunts the Bruins. Can they battle back in this series? Or will they continue to Bruin it? Rochester and Syracuse love their extra hockey, and Andrew loves a particular player on the (Italian) Americans that just may carry them to the next round. Andrew also asks for forgiveness from the Griffins for doubting them following their series win over the IceHogs. Dea counters with some more pop culture references that neither Andrew nor any other host could ever keep up with.
