The FTC instituted a rule banning most non-compete agreements, aiming to protect workers' rights and promote competition. This rule was supposed to take effect in September 2024, but it is currently facing legal challenges and is not being enforced due to a federal court decision in Texas. The future of the FTC's non-compete rule remains uncertain.
