Welcome back to the Totally Innocent Podcast! This week we are taking a look at the overturning of roe v wade and what that means for womens rights as well as the rights of the LGBTQ community as well as inter-racial marriage and even the legality of contraception.
On june 24th 2022 the supreme court overturned Roe v Wade and several red state had trigger laws in place to all but outlaw abortion in almost every way. Most red states have exceptions for saving the life of the mother, but there are a few that say non consensual conception and even saving the mothers life are still murder.
For a little context, I am a registered democrat. However I will be damned if you try to take my AR-15 away from me. I am very middle of the road on most issues. I say things in this episode that people WILL be mad at, and that is ok. At the end of the day these are MY opinions. Due to the nature of the topic there are points I almost didnt upload this episode for due to what may seem as me blatantly attacking certain groups. I do not mean to offend, I am just passionate and in the heat of the moment. well
Roe v Wade being overturned was a huge step back for womens rights, as well as progressive rights in the united states and who the hell are these old bags to tell anyone what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. I say abortion shouldnt be used as birth control.. but you know what? even if it is? it literally affects my life 0.
Lord knows those in power are pro life until the baby is born, but after that? Well, just look at the foster care system in America. You are not pro life. You are pro birth and who cares what happens to them after that.
This is a very polarizing topic and as such we try to tread light, however I do have opinions of my own so if I get a little frisky, send me an email and tell me to shut up at cancelledcultproductions@gmail.com
