  • Resiliency, faith and being a mom and woman in STEM with Joyce Bone
    2022/09/26

Join Dr. Kimberly Jackson as she has a leadership chat with SolMicroGrird Co-Founder & President, Joyce Bone, about resiliency, faith and being a mom and woman in STEM.

Listen in as Joyce shares how faith and family shaped her journey as a mom and woman in STEM and how resiliency in the face of uncertainty led to her latest successful venture. After listening to this conversation, you will walk away with many great tips on taking care of yourself, relationships with your children and how to be present and enjoy the ride. Kimberly and Joyce will leave you asking yourself, "Do I believe I can?"

    Guest Bio:

Joyce's entrepreneurial journey began at age 28 with the founding of EarthCare, an environmental company (non-haz liquid waste company) that she took public on NASDAQ with revenues of $125 million. Now, as COO and Co-founder of SolMicroGrid, Joyce is changing the way businesses handle their energy vulnerabilities.

Joyce has been in the environmental industry for decades in solid waste, recycling, liquid waste, and microgrids/energy. Having seen the end results of waste streams firsthand, she works with corporations to reduce their carbon footprint while driving topline revenue along with bottom-line savings. The best way she has found to do this is through microgrids.

SolMicrogrid innovated on the microgrid concept by creating systems properly sized for restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, and more. Their clean energy solution provides business resiliency, budget certainty, and keeps businesses in line with their ESG goals. Additionally, they help customers stay in compliance with environmental regulations, and most rewarding, keep their doors open to serve their communities.

As a woman in business and mother of three sons, Joyce wrote, "Millionaire Moms-The Art of Raising a Business & a Family at The Same Time" to help other women juggle the dual demands of family life and work. She has appeared on CNBC's "The Squawk Box," and in Kiplinger, Money, Women's Day, Forbes, Atlanta Business Chronicle, and CEO magazines for her business acumen. In addition, she has spoken at national conferences as well as internationally. Joyce is always up for a challenge!

Joyce is currently reading Life Force: How New Breakthroughs in Precision Medicine Can Transform the Quality of Your Life & Those You Love.
