  • Episode 174 - RFK FDA TOOTH DECAY!
    2024/11/20

Apologies for the radio silence - besides licking my financial wounds and feeling like an absolute prat for getting my election prediction SO HORRIBLY WRONG it has been hard to find the time and energy to get behind the mic. Hey, at least I'm not that Ann Seltzer lady.

This episode also sounds like shit cause I recorded in a large room and did an AI edit. Damnit, you'll get what you get until law exams are done!

This episiode we are having a good look at the plans of RFK Jr. who you all know is going to Make America Healthy Again. Well, is he?

It's gonna be interesting. My inner cooker is fascinated to see how this goes, but as per usual the very positive things like removing toxic dyes from American food are completely counterbalanced by the fact that the person who plans to do it is a complete idiot.

Law school ends this week. The future is bright! Plan some road trips, listeners, cause you're getting content for Christmas!

Much love and I hope you enjoy!

  • The Two Jacks - Episode 94 - MisInfo for Kids
    2024/11/18

The Two Jacks discuss the Albanese government's decision to prevent kids under 16 from accessing social media as well as the Misinformation and Disinformation (MAD) bill. The view from the two Jacks is that this is not a role for government and may end up becoming a vote loser for the government. The Two Jacks look at Trump's cabinet nominations thus far. Matt Gaetz and RFK Jr round off some very ordinary choices. Will they survive the scrutiny of the US senate? In sport, rugby beats cricket for ratings as the Wallabies are back!

  • Episode 173 - Moronica, Musk and the US General Election
    2024/10/28

Elon Musk takes a hit after a fairly average product launch but spoiler alert - there's no justice in the world.

Speaking of justice, the department of in the US might have a word with Elon due to his silly million dollar giveaway to get punters to register and vote for Trump. Will he get in trouble? Probably not.

Monica encourages parents to encourage children to go into toilets and film other kids...

    ...

    ...

    Wow.

And we talk shit about the US general election where it's apparently close. Maybe it is. Feels like something is amiss.

Oh, Babet has half a brain.

    Enjoy!

    2024/10/18

The Two Jacks look at some of the US presidential election polling. JTI walks through one poll and shows the reasons why it is not reliable. It's not skewed one way or another. It's just bad polling.

  • Episode 172 - Trump Tests Putin - Jail For Nazis - Cooker Rallies
    2024/10/13

Listeners! This week we are doing another newsy roundup with Trump sending covid testing machines to Putin so his buddy doesn't get sick and a little spot of custodial bother for a Victorian nazi who did a cheeky salute to test the new laws. Spoiler alert - they seem to work.

In other news, we look at rallies. Mostly cooker ones. But we look at some laws around flags that don't really work. And probably shouldn't.

The libertarians get angry at cookers for having a rally without a permit and Crackers Kelly attempts to create an actionable 'defamation by proxy' when cookers taunt him at their free speech rally. Irony meter broken here.

In SovCits we explore the law on driving, sorry travelling, without headlights. I don't want to spoil it but I think you know the answer.

And Pete? Well, has he been funny this entire year? Not really. But Babet is hilarious. The tail end is (finally) getting updated.

    Enjoy!

  • The Two Jacks - Episode 90 - Protestors are entitled to protest
    2024/10/12

The Two Jacks discuss the Pro-Palestinian rallies in Melbourne and Sydney. Laws extended to prohibit or restrict peaceful protests are a bridge too far in Australia. No one has to agree with them and some may find it offensive but it is part and parcel of living in a democracy. HK Jack would like a ban on mask wearing during protests but knows enforcement would be near impossible.

The south east of the US hunkers down for yet another hurricane coming its way, the second Cat 5 hurricane in October which is virtually unheard of.

While Trump has sought to polticise the response, JTI runs through the limits of FEMA's support, homeless Americans are specifically excluded from FEMA assistance and many residents in the large area are now finding they cannot be insured.

In the UK, the Starmer government appears like it is not ready to govern.

The Arab world sends mixed messages on Israel's incursion into Lebanon.

In sport, the battle lines are now drawn between the FA and Man City while Penright celebrate their fourth NRL premiership in as many years.
