  • Before You Say Yes to GLP-1s: The Questions Nobody Is Asking You
    2026/06/10

    Send us Fan Mail

GLP-1s are everywhere right now, and the conversation around them has gotten loud, polarized, and honestly a little exhausting. You've got one camp calling them a miracle drug and another saying you're taking the easy way out. I'm not here for either of those takes.

What I am here for is giving you the full picture: the questions, the considerations, and the context you actually deserve before making any decision about your body.

As a functional nutritionist who works primarily with women navigating endometriosis, hormone imbalances, and gut health issues, I'm seeing this topic come up constantly, from clients, from my community, from women who've been told this is their only option. So let's talk about it.

    In This Episode We Cover

    • What informed consent actually means (and why it matters more than you think)
    • The real benefits of GLP-1s
    • Practical questions to bring to your prescribing practitioner before starting
    • What GLP-1s are actually doing inside your body
    • The gut health considerations nobody is talking about
    • Muscle mass, nutrition, and why "eating less" isn't always the whole story
    • How chronic inflammation connects to blood sugar, gut health, and your hormones, and why quieting symptoms isn't the same as addressing root causes
    • The fertility and hormone questions that still don't have clear answers
    • Why having an exit strategy matters if you do choose to start
    • How to use GLP-1s as a tool alongside foundational work, not instead of it

  • Why Your Perfect Diet is Still Wrecking Your Hormones
    2026/06/03

    Send us Fan Mail

If you've been eating a near-perfect diet and still struggling with hormonal imbalances, period pain, bloating, or fatigue, this episode is for you. I break down why the stress around clean eating can be just as damaging to your body as the food itself, and how the pursuit of dietary perfection can actually keep you stuck.

    In This Episode, You'll Learn:

    • Why chronic food stress and anxiety trigger the same cortisol response as a physical threat and what that does to your hormones
    • Why highly reactive women who restrict more foods are often making things worse, not better
    • The difference between short-term elimination and long-term restriction, and why one helps while the other harms
    • How social media and wellness culture can fuel fear-based eating and the comparison trap
    • Why food reactivity is a symptom to investigate, not a life sentence of restriction
    • What I actually eat now vs. during my most restrictive phase and why she feels better with more flexibility
    • A real client story: from food fear and constant gut symptoms to balanced hormones and an enjoyable relationship with food

    Key Takeaway

Your nervous system cannot tell the difference between a lion chasing you and a food fear spiral. If you're eating beautifully but living in a state of anxiety about every bite, your body is still under chronic stress, and that stress is disrupting the very hormones you're trying to heal.

  • 5 Things Your Cycle Is Trying to Tell You About Your Fertility Right Now
    2026/05/20

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt like your body was sending you signals you just didn't know how to read? In this episode, I'm sharing everything I wish I had known years earlier — before a nine-year fertility journey that could have looked very different if I had understood what my cycle was trying to tell me all along.

Whether you're actively trying to conceive, trying not to conceive, or simply want to understand your body better, this episode is for you.

    In This Episode, You'll Learn:

    • Why your menstrual cycle is your fifth vital sign — and what that actually means for your overall health
    • The four phases of your cycle and what's happening hormonally in each one
    • What a truly healthy cycle looks and feels like (hint: it's probably not what you were taught in school)
    • The three key symptoms to track so you always know where you are in your cycle
    • What common cycle irregularities are trying to tell you about your hormones and fertility
    • Why birth control doesn't actually "regulate" your hormones — and what it does instead

    Resources Mentioned

    • Tempdrop wearable basal body temperature tracker
    • Read Your Body app (my personal favorite for cycle tracking)
    • Kindara app (another great option for cycle tracking)

  • Your Hormones Aren't the Problem--This Is.
    2026/05/13

    Send us Fan Mail

If you've been told you have a hormone imbalance (or you've suspected it yourself), this episode is going to completely change the way you think about what's happening in your body.

Most women dealing with symptoms like PMS, heavy periods, painful periods, fatigue, bloating, mood swings, or irregular cycles have done the research. They've landed on terms like estrogen dominance or low progesterone. They may have even started supplements, tried seed cycling, or cleaned up their diet. And yet they still don't feel better.

Here's what most people miss: your hormones are rarely the cause of your symptoms. They're the result. In this episode, we're going deeper, into the four body systems that are most likely driving your hormone imbalance, and why addressing these root causes is the key to finally feeling like yourself again.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • Why hormone imbalance is a downstream symptom (not a root cause) and what this means for your healing
    • The estrobolome: what it is, why your gut microbiome directly controls your estrogen levels, and what happens when it's out of balance
    • How your gut can drive estrogen dominance, heavy periods, and PMS
    • Why a sluggish liver keeps estrogen recirculating in your body
    • How blood sugar dysregulation drives androgen excess, worsens estrogen dominance, and feeds the stress response cycle
    • Why two women can have identical hormone panels and need completely different approaches
    • What to look at upstream of your hormones and how this is the foundation of everything I do with my clients

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, this episode is for you:

    • PMS, mood swings, or irritability before your period
    • Heavy, painful, or irregular periods
    • Bloating, constipation, or digestive issues alongside hormonal symptoms
    • Fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
    • Acne, hair thinning, or unwanted hair growth
    • Waking between 1–4am
    • Energy crashes, sugar cravings, or feeling "hangry"
    • Symptoms that seem to shift or worsen during stressful periods

  • I'm Not Broken: Becoming a Mom After a 9-Year Fertility Journey
    2026/05/06

    Send us Fan Mail

*This episode includes honest discussion of pregnancy loss, chronic pain, and the emotional weight of a long infertility journey. Please take care of yourself as you listen.*

    This one is personal.

Four weeks ago, I became a mom. And I've been sitting with this episode in my heart ever since, trying to find the words because this isn't just a birth announcement. This is nine years of faith, grief, pain, and perseverance finally having a face. Her name is Evalina, and she is my miracle.

In this episode, I'm sharing the most vulnerable parts of my journey, the parts I didn't always talk about when I was in the thick of it. I'm talking about what it really felt like to live with endometriosis, the miscarriage in 2020 that broke something in me that took a long time to heal, and the slow, unglamorous work of keeping the faith when hope felt impossible.

I'm also sharing something that surprised me, a realization I had during my unmedicated birth that stopped me in my tracks. Because somewhere in the hardest moments of labor, I understood something about my endo pain, my body, and my worth that I wish I had known years ago.

This episode is for you if you're still waiting. If you're grieving. If you've been told your pain isn't that bad, or if you've quietly wondered whether something is wrong with you. I want you to hear this from someone four weeks out from her miracle: you are not broken. Your story is not over.

    In this episode, I cover:

    • The core belief that anchored me through nine years of infertility
    • What living with endometriosis actually felt like and what it stole from me
    • The 2020 miscarriage that broke me, and the long road back
    • What "keeping the faith" really looks like when the faith is exhausted
    • My unmedicated birth vs. endo pain and the empowering realization it gave me
    • The emotional complexity of early motherhood after infertility

If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to connect:

Come find me on Instagram. I share openly about endometriosis, infertility, and all the messy, beautiful in-between. You can find me at @aligned.to.rise.

And if you're ready to stop navigating this journey alone, I offer free 30-minute consultations, a space just for you to be heard and to explore what support could look like. Click here to book yours today.

If today's episode helped you feel a little less alone, please share it with a woman who needs to hear it. You never know whose day, or journey, you might change.
