In 1 Kings 19 we encounter Elijah--the greatest Old Testament prophet--experiencing profound despair. In response, God first comforts, then challenges him. In the first two parts of this series, we have sought to comfort those enduring depression or mental afflictions. To conclude, we want to offer a gentle challenge. Suffering can become our identity and, as such, our contorted hearts may reject the very healing and joy we long for. Why is this? And what do we do about it? Two church members will join Pastor Chris in sharing their stories of confronting depression and fighting for joy.
Linworth exists to help the spiritually lost and wounded join a community of people becoming fully alive, fully mature, and fully on-mission through the healing power of Jesus Christ and His Word.
