Jesus didn't die for things, He died for people. Yet, Jonah was more concerned about a "thing" than he was for the people of Nineveh. This is a mistake that is all too common today. People put things above people.

Jonah was a real character with some serious flaws. Let's not be like Him and learn from his mistakes so we can have a proper value system of people over things.

Jonah was a successful prophet but he wasn't happy about it. The people of Nineveh responded to his message, God changed His mind about destroying them and Jonah was saddened. Imagine being sad at your won success. And why did Jonah feel this way? Because he hated what God loves.
