Stacy Newman, Host of Heartland Network's "More Than the Music" The Detroit Native Reveals the Show’s Unique Appeal and Plans for the Upcoming Season! When Stacy Newman arrived in Chattanooga, TN 13 years ago, she hoped to build a career in television and film production. Her natural problem-solving skills and ability to make things happen weren’t lost on those who worked with her as she moved up the proverbial food chain at Luken Communications which was busy building a brand with its popular Retro TV network and its sister networks. Then seemingly out of nowhere, after working as an editor at the national multi-network broadcaster, she became host of the popular music program “More than the Music,” an interview shows airing Tuesdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. at Luken’s country music channel, The Heartland Network. Today, the Detroit native is celebrating the show’s third year as it continues to expand into new markets and grow its fanbase exponentially. “I’m still a little surprised I’m here. It all came out of nowhere for me, though I wouldn’t say I was a fish out of water exactly,” she recalled. “I’d done some freelance work on a few shows and movies, but it was certainly my first time in front of a camera on a regular basis. It’s funny -- what I really found hardest was having to learn how to do my hair and makeup all the time!”
