Statement 1: I have a life threatening problem that once had me. I now take charge of my life and my well being . I accept the responsibility.

Kim Glovas grew up along the banks of the Delaware River in Easton, Pa. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Journalism Department, Kim immediately set off on a life-long career in radio news, landing at Philadelphia’s KYW Newsradio where she spent nearly 4 decades. She is an award-winning reporter who has covered everything from the AIDS epidemic to the spread of PFAs, forever chemicals, in drinking supplies and elsewhere. Plus, the assorted parades, festivals and Phillies and Eagles pre-game events. After realizing drinking was consuming her life, Kim looked to the internet for help and found the Women for Sobriety community. She has been an active member of WFS, and sober, since 2020. Kim, now retired, enjoys yoga, volunteering with WFS, working at a local food pantry, and throwing pots …on the wheel! She lives in suburban Philadelphia with her husband of 35 years and two cats.

Jen Wielgus is native of suburban Chicago who “pulled a geographic” after graduating from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s in journalism and never returned (except to visit!) A lifelong athlete and outdoor enthusiast with a passion for storytelling, Jen worked as a print and video sports reporter and online content creator for more than 20 years, until her battle with alcohol addiction started her on a completely different personal and professional path. Now 4 1/2 years sober, Jen is a few months from earning her master’s degree in counseling psychology at Delaware Valley University in Bucks County, PA, where she also works as a therapist in a drug and alcohol treatment center with the dream of someday opening her own therapy practice. In her spare time, Jen enjoys running, hiking, doing yoga, devouring true crime media, listening to 90s grunge rock, writing in her recovery blog, and living an alcohol-free life with her husband of 16 years.
