• S6E7: Dorz Brown on how to run a business with both head and heart
    2020/09/28

My guest today is my great friend and fabulous business woman - Doreen - or Dorz Brown.

She runs Doreen Brown Consulting - providing accessible Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services and affordable web design to small business owners and solopreneurs. With programs, challenges, and full consulting options all available - Dorz brings an infectious energy to what can usually be a very data-driven and heavy area of marketing.

In this episode we chat about:

    • How she got started in her business with $200 in her bank account and what led her to falling in love with the area of search engine optimisation
    • We talk about how she manages to guard her time religiously and the tricks she uses in her calendar to do this.
    • We talk about the beach ball way of looking at perspective (I’d never heard this analogy before and I love it)
    • How over the years she has learned to listen to her gut instinct so much more.
    • The tricks she uses to recharge and reset
    • How she never wants to have totally fulfilled her life purpose - this is a great reframe on this concept
    • AND - we officially announce our brand new collaboration together - which is going to be incredible - you’re going to want to get involved, and you’ll be able to tell how we ridiculously excited we both are about it!

I get so much of an Inspo-boost and an injection of energy every time I speak with Dorz and I know you’re going to too!

  • S6E2: Michelle Broadbent on how to organise your life by setting boundaries
    2020/08/20

Do you have find yourself with too much on the to-do list? Like you’re drowning in a sea of tasks and errands and projects and it doesn’t matter how hard you work - you can never fit it all in?

If so, whether you’re a business owner or simply someone who wants to build more structure and organisation into your life to reduce that overwhelm - you’re going to love this episode.

Michelle Broadbent is a business manager and strategist. She is the woman behind the woman - helping female entrepreneurs get organised, back in control and clear on where they’re heading so they can transform their business and their lives.

Michelle is one of the MOST organised people I know and she is a total productivity machine  - in this episode we talk about:

    • The most common problem that Michelle sees in female entrepreneurs
    • Why planning white space in your calendar is SO important
    • How to manage your calendar around your energy levels so you can still get things done even when you’re not really feeling it.
    • And how if you don’t have boundaries then you’re never going to thrive in business (or in life).

This episode is one that is particularly relevant for me too because although I can be a total productivity machine and seem to have this magical ability to cut through the clutter and gets others unstuck and moving forward - something I tend to do very regularly is take too much on and don’t leave enough ‘white space’ as Michelle calls it for those contingency times and overflow.

So whether you’re a complete hot mess when it comes to getting organised or you’re like me and can be a total productivity machine but need to work on those boundaries - this is the ep for you!

If you want to find out more about Michelle and how she can help you transform your business or your life, check out her website: https://www.michellebroadbent.com.au/ or follow her on insta: @michbroadbent or Linked in: linkedin.com/in/smallbusinesssupportservice

  • S6:E1 Rebecca McPhee on diets, French cheese and why changing our own behaviour is so damn hard
    2020/08/10

Welcome back to Season 6 of the Momentum Life Project and for the first episode of the new season I have a very special guest who is a great friend of mine and who is the BEST person I know in getting people to change their behaviour.

Rebecca McPhee is a dietitcian, nutritionist, health coach and an expert in behaviour change. We first met a number of years ago when we worked together at the same consultancy and have been friends ever since. Bec has worked as both a private practising dietitian, ran a business called the Cultured Nutritionist and has worked in health services in both Australia and the UK and was the chair of the NSW branch of Nutrition Australia

I highly recommend you grab a pen and paper for this episode as you will want to take notes!

We’re talking about behaviour change - what is it, why it’s so damn hard to do and what tips and tricks you can use to make healthy habits stick.

    • We talk about why dieting is the fastest growing indoor sport in Australia.
    • Why French Cheese is never off the menu.
    • We talk about the biggest roadblocks to modifying behaviour.
    • Why sometimes bad behaviours can be hidden under really positive actions.
    • And we talk about why motivation alone simply isn’t enough.

I have seen first hand the results that Bec gets with her approach and I am so excited to be bringing this episode to you

None of us are perfect but if we can understand the motivations and the drivers behind our behaviours then we can really start to live our best lives.

You can find Bec on Linked in and for more about her project in the ACT you can jump on their Insta page: Capital Chicks Canberra (and hopefully it will be rolled out further afield very soon!)
