Sharpen Your Skills and Prosper
Proverbs 22:9 “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”
The Scripture in my heart today is Proverbs 22:9, which says “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”
God in His great wisdom has always allowed men of great skills, giftings, and capacity to be ahead economically, in leadership and opportunities. He who is faithful with little will be trusted with more. One of the things you should learn as a child of God is not to murmur and complain when you are struggling for opportunities, business, or work? Complainers will always remain average and mediocre in all they do. Never forget that.
Ask yourself, what skills do you have? Or what does your hand find to do at the moment? Work hard to become better in the value you offer your customers and clients. People pay money for the value they receive, for the solutions they get for their problems. So, the more value you give the more you prosper, the more problems you solve the more you prosper. That is the secret of great businessmen and women.
The marketplace does not respond to desperation. Money will not follow you simply because you are a Christian. You must put in the effort at work to build capacity for more, work on yourself and be diligent with the little responsibilities you have been given at the moment. Improve your education, work on your people skills, and do whatever it takes to make you a valuable worker and you will prosper greatly.
God has said he will bless the work of your hands, he has not said he will bless you if you are a doctor or a member of parliament. Take the work of your hands seriously no matter where you have to start or what you do. God is your blesser and if you are diligent in building skills and capacity you will find yourself in places beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations. To stand before kings will just be the beginning.
