    My guest on this week’s episode is my fabulous friend, the gorgeous Polly Warren.

    Polly is a breathwork facilitator, health & wellness coach, and hypnotherapist who is passionate about helping midlife women come back to themselves and live their very best lives.

    She is also a podcaster with her fabulous podcast, Menomorphosis.

    Topics that we cover are:

    • how married life with kids can be challenging, and is not always a bed of roses;
    • the energy and headspace that having three children requires;
    • Polly’s experience of perimenopause that motivated the first incarnation of her podcast, Menomorphosis;
    • how she helps midlife women ‘come back to themselves’;
    • her passion for breathwork and why how we breathe is at the core of our wellness;
    • why we should all be breathing through our noses, most of the time;
    • the benefits of breathing more efficiently, including better sleep and more energy;
    • how to practice breathing efficiently;
    • nervous system regulation and why it’s important to recognise when we’re spending too much time in our sympathetic state;
    • why and how breathwork is a bridge between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems;
    • how exhaling triggers the parasympathetic side of our nervous system;
    • our ‘window of tolerance’, what it is and how we can use it;
    • how breathwork allows us to take a moment between a trigger and our response;
    • midlife, and why the way we think about it is so important;
    • nutrition in midlife, and some of the foods we should aim to include in our diets;
    • the huge importance of getting enough protein;
    • why flaxseed is amazing for midlife women;
    • the 80/20 rule when it comes to nutrition;
    • movement in midlife, and why we should all be strength training.
