In February 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine, triggering a war which has had a devastating impact on the people, the environment and wildlife. Prior to the conflict, a small team from the University of East Anglia and the British Trust for Ornithology had been tracking the migrations of the endangered greater spotted eagle using the very latest in GPS tracking technology. With the kit still active on these majestic birds, the team have been able to study the impact of the conflict on their migrating behaviour.

In this episode what we're doing is reviewing two gps tracking product launches, one by Tive the other by Roambee. Tive have launched what they call Tive solo light gps tracker, very much a stripped back device. Roambee on the other hand have gone very different with a gps tracking smart label and they seem to have done something which no one else has managed to do so far which has put 5G connectivity in a label along with GPS.
