Where is our identity grounded, why is any of "it" significant, and why do we find our culture at the crossroads of the mirky swamp of despond? This week we address the age old question of religion's deep importance to humanity and attempt to piece together why our culture has ensnared its people within their own idolatrous and morbid maze. I am not a pastor, doctor, lawyer or politician; however, I am me and, through carefully examining myself in this episode, we'll piece together what that means in hopes that it will aid in your journey of finding you (whatever that may be). An Angel Studios production, entitled Sound of Freedom hit theaters July Fourth. Since its release the movie has stirred the pot quite a bit, making its message a prevalent talking point on many news stations and media outlets. Today, we are discussing why this movie has caused such outrage from people and what that means as our culture moves forward to attack such a sickening parasite that we have allowed to grow in the roots of our world. We break down the ideas of finding unity, identity, and love in a culture so bent on tearing its people apart. This is the first part in an ongoing series where we will unpack the under pinning desire for the sexualization of our world.  

Life in college is rough. From figuring out how to wake up on time to finding the right meal to fuel your body, everybody has that awkward learning curve adjusting to living on your own. Today we are unpacking many different tools to help this transition feel less awkward and more smooth. Straying away from the TikTok typical and YouTube vlog advice, these strategies are the ones people don't often mention because of their nuance. These are the deep cuts, the hidden secrets to success within the dorm room life. This is a little break from the usual "deeper material" covered on this podcast, but no less important and necessary in this stage of life where we find ourselves.

Welcome back to another great episode featuring two of my favorite people I met back in High School and the first female voices to appear on The Seeker's Shelter. Their names are Lydia and Mady, and they are each attending East Tennessee State University and Lee University respectively.  Throughout the episode, we dove into some hard lessons that we learned through tough relationships (romantic and friendly).  We also discussed the transition of expectations from relationships as you go from High School to College, and what it means to be a real friend to others while respecting your abilities as a busy person/college student. I hope you all enjoy this conversation as much as I did; it was an honor to have these ladies on the podcast. They are both incredibly perceptive and beacons of wisdom which shine beyond their years. Merry Christmas ya fellow Seeker's! I hope everyone is having a merry Christmas season and is able to find some rest in the chaos these times can bring. Today, I've brought onto the show my ride or die boy, Jonathan Womble. We discuss our perspectives and reasons for choosing small private colleges instead of large public universities. While we both deeply respect and value the education on both sides of the debate, our goal is also to expand the discussion forward to the idea of investing into ones self through the intentional self-transformation that college as a whole has to offer. We go back and forth on relational maturity, the struggle of dealing with paying for college vs not going at all, and rooting yourself in a community that values your story and challenges you to find moral peace and balance in your life. Hello again my fellow Seekers! It is a joy that I bring with me on the show today a dear friend of mine and graduate of Berry College, Mr. Mitchell Riggs. Mitchell and I engage in conversation over the harsh reality that our expectations of the world and from the world never truly seem to aline with what truly happens within the world. Mitchell enlightens us on what a worldview with Jesus Christ at the center looks like and how, through faith, he has risen from the weight of unmet and shattered expectations. We also talk about his personal struggles physically as he was born with a physical hinderance. At times we both get distracted by other thoughts and jokes, but that's natural as I try to keep the recording as raw and honest because I feel someone can either learn or laugh at something throughout the show. For this show, I brought on my good friend and old roommate, Mr. Ian Lazenby, to help me address the elements of music and the big ideas that we face whenever we turn on the latest Taylor Swift album or a classic Marvin Gaye record. Ian and I both have a musical backgrounds which lend to our rather poetic lens with which we view the world. So, join us as we wade into the depths of the water and unearth pieces of the human experience that lend itself toward musical composition.
