The Validation Lounge: Sanjay Kumar (part 1 of 2)

  • サマリー

  • This discussion/podcast is split into two parts.Part 1: In this episode I talk to Sanjay Kumar who is now back in Bangalore in India (where he grew up) after living in London for 17 years. Whilst in the UK he trained to be a psychotherapist and worked specialising in supporting gay men and also offered bereavement therapy. This episode was recorded before the horrendous spread of Covid in India. Before the full episode we have a brief discussion on this (recorded more recently) as Sanjay and I felt it would be appropriate to acknowledge the effects of Covid in his country. Here are details for 2 charities working on the ground in India supporting families affected by Covid if you would like to help out:https://www.khalsaaid.org/news/india-covid-reliefhttps://www.ketto.orgIf you would like to work with Sanjay you can get in touch with him via the following sites:https://www.facebook.com/positivetherapytodayhttps://www.instagram.com/positivetherapytoday/Definitions and information about various things we discuss in the show:Integrative: A model of Therapy that draws from several modalities.Existential: https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/existential-therapy.htmlPhenomenology: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenomenology_(philosophy)Humanistic: https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/humanistic.htmlMindfulness: https://www.mindful.org/meditation/mindfulness-getting-started/Vipassana Meditation: https://www.dhamma.org/en/about/vipassana Gaie Houston: http://www.gaiehouston.co.ukPACE: PACE Health was of the oldest LGBT charities in London offered therapeutic and advocacy services to the community, sadly closed in 2014.Loving Men: https://www.lovingmen.org
