Founded in the Sultanate of Oman in 2018 and later backed by some of the largest institutions in the country, Phaze was established, “to accelerate the transformation of the region’s economies through global early-stage investments and strategic partnerships.”

Abdullah shares his story and tells us how important it is for family businesses to build their social capital; why some of the more traditional ways of doing business here in the Gulf aren't that far removed from the modern VC scene (!); and, he talks us through the history of the regional venture capital scene...all the way back to the heady days of 2018!
