  • 4: The Fastest Way To Lose Belly Fat w/Dr. Mindy Pelz
    2024/11/04

Dr. Mindy Pelz, a women's health expert, shares her insights on weight loss, metabolism, and hormonal health in an interview on the Jay Shetty Podcast. Pelz emphasizes the importance of eating real food free from chemicals and toxins, and fasting to help control cravings and improve metabolic health. She argues that the calorie-in, calorie-out model is flawed, and focusing on blood sugar regulation and the health of the gut microbiome is more effective. She also discusses the importance of protein and its role in hormone production, and the importance of lifestyle changes for women, especially during perimenopause and menopause. Pelz encourages listeners to be mindful of the information they consume and to take responsibility for their own health.

  • 2: Achieve a Year’s Worth of Progress in Just 30 Days with Mithu Storoni
    2024/10/31

This synopsis of the Dr. Rangan Chatterjee interview with neuroscientist Mithu Storoni discusses the implications of a new era of knowledge work and the need to rethink productivity as a measure of quality rather than quantity. Storoni argues that we should design our work lives to match natural rhythms, focusing on intense mental work in short bursts and then shifting to lighter tasks. She suggests that the three "gears" of the brain, which represent different levels of mental activity, are a useful framework for understanding this concept. The interview also touches on how to use tools like napping, walking, and breathwork to upregulate and downregulate our brains, helping us optimize mental performance.

  • Supplements for Longevity & Their Efficacy
    2024/10/31

This is a summary of the Huberman Lab with Dr. Peter Attia, M.D., a Stanford and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine-trained physician expert in improving human healthspan and lifespan. Dr. Attia is also the host of The Drive podcast and author of the best-selling book Outlive.

They discuss the NAD pathway in human cells and its possible links to aging and health. They evaluate how supplementation can augment molecules in the NAD pathway; they compare NAD, NMN, and NR, different routes of administration, their safety, and bioavailability. Then, they discuss the broader research and clinical literature on longevity to decide if supplementation with NAD, NR, NMN, rapamycin, or resveratrol can indeed extend lifespan.

Finally, they each describe thier supplement regimens and compare the role of supplementation to behaviors such as sleep, nutrition, and exercise for longevity. They also discuss whether tests of biological age are true indicators of aging and whether normal radiation levels increase cancer risk.

Listeners of this episode will learn if supplements purported to improve lifespan show any efficacy and the behaviors and other factors that can prevent disease and extend lifespan
