According to The Christian Post, Linda Burris said, “We made a record of 2,824 Gospel conversations with 373 of those praying to receive Christ.” Now that’s some good news about the Good News! He said Mozambique has faced “seven years of displacement; seven years of death; seven years during which people have lived with great suffering; of hunger, because they cannot farm their land due to insecurity; of disease, because there is no access to medication, or because the closest clinic has been destroyed. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Persecution of Christians has worsened since 2022 Aid to the Church in Need released a report on Christian persecution this week. The study found the situation for Christians in 18 countries of key concern significantly worsened between 2022 and 2024. Militant Islam was responsible for increased persecution across African countries. And Christians continue to face discrimination under authoritarian regimes like China, India, and Iran. Aid to the Church in Need noted, “Recurring themes in the report include the displacement of Christian communities following attacks by extremist groups and the forced marriage and conversion of Christian women and girls, as well as the kidnapping and intimidation of priests and the publication of derogatory content about Christianity in school textbooks.” I

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Somalian Christian attacked for leading prayer meetings Morning Star News reports that a Christian in Somalia, Africa suffered an attack earlier this month at the hands of his relatives for leading prayer meetings. Mohammad Abdul converted to Christianity from Islam in March. He now leads multiple groups in Bible study and prayer. This angered his Muslim relatives who have violently attacked him and his family multiple times. Despite the pushback, Abdul said, “You can beat me up more if you want, but I can tell you that [Jesus] has saved me. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 5 Nigerian guards saved village of 300 from deadly Fulani Muslims A civilian team of five guards saved a village of 300 in Plateau State, Nigeria last week from an attack by Fulanis, a fundamentalist Muslim sect. Four of the guards gave up their lives, and one survived the attack. The team’s pipe guns apparently deterred further carnage. According to the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa, the Fulani have been responsible for over 50,000 murders in the last four years. Plus, Truth Nigeria issued an early warning advisory to the villages before the attack occurred. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus British University issued “trigger warning” about reading Chaucer The University of Nottingham in England has issued a “trigger warning” to students studying various medieval literature, in part because of Christian themes in the texts, reports International Christian Concern. The Daily Mail on Sunday discovered the warning through a Freedom of Information Act request. The British university warned students that the course “Chaucer and His Contemporaries” contained issues of “violence, mental illness, and expressions of Christian faith.” Geoffrey Chaucer, most widely known for writing The Canterbury Tales, was a 14th-century English author and poet whose influence on English literature is on par with William Shakespeare. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Saudi Arabia rejected from Human Rights Council During a vote last week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, representatives rejected Saudi Arabia’s bid for membership on the influential Human Rights Council, reports International Christian Concern. Voting for a spot on the council is broken up geographically, with six countries vying for five open spots. The Marshall Islands won the fifth seat, beating Saudi Arabia by just seven votes. Previously, Saudi Arabia has sat as a member of the Human Rights Council. Madeleine Sinclair with the International Service for Human Rights said, “We are relieved that enough states took their record on human rights into account when voting. Elder Zhu Longfei of Shunde Shengjia Church had suffered in prison for 14 months. Police arrested him last year for printing Bible study materials, characterizing it as “printing and distributing illegal publications that seriously endanger social order and disrupt market order, with particularly serious circumstances.” Through Longfei’s imprisonment, China Aid noted “the Lord’s name was spread and greatly glorified because of this.” Like many other congregations, his church operates illegally outside of China’s officially recognized church.
