• Cori Josias | Succeeding in Business & Feeling Adored in Relationships
    2024/06/16

Cori's career as a singer gave her an early experience of self-employment. She knows how it feels to earn a healthy amount of money, plus the opposite.

She has a very authentic approach to sales, which has been proven in its efficacy by her excellent track record, breaking company records.

Cori shares what character traits set you up for success in entrepreneurship and what tendencies are an indicator that, probably, it#s time to pursue your own thing.

We chat about how aspects of coaching are similar to sales (selling people an upgrade to themselves), the importance of listening when selling.

Cori sports an Oura ring ;) and prioritizes her health. We also chatted about her most important habits.

Here's more about this inspiring woman's story and mission, in her own words:

"Telling my kids was the worst day of my life. After 20 years of marriage, it was time to go. I had built myself a prison, shaping my life to fit with someone else’s version of me.

I've since gone on to find the love of my life (we met when I was 65), and I believe it's possible for anyone. My mission is to inspire women over 50 who want to be adored, and to ensure that they never give up on finding the love they deserve."

  • Linda Eskay | Thriving Solopreneur Podcast EP5
    2024/05/19

Here's the 5th episode of the Thriving Solopreneur Podcast. Our guest is Linda Eskay! 💚

Talking about inspiration...let's hear her story in her own words:

"My business was born from inspiration and love, guided by divine intervention. I am committed to my purpose, always stepping forward to do the work I now know is my soul’s mission, my calling.

Not long ago, I found myself living life on auto-pilot, trapped in a soul-crushing corporate job. Despite having an amazing family, I felt depleted and unable to give them what they deserved. I relied on multiple anxiety medications, which only pushed me further from my true self. The dosage kept increasing, but the pain, both physical and emotional, remained debilitating. I felt trapped, hopeless, and desperate for a way out.

I dedicated myself to inner work, discovering and releasing limitations, and moving into fuller versions of myself. I learned to live authentically and to strive for a life aligned with my principles. Overcoming paralyzing limitations opened floodgates of opportunities. At 54, I gave myself permission to live, and embarked on world travels to places like Iceland and Croatia."

I appreciate Linda for her authenticity and positive intent. With some people you can just feel that they have your best interest at heart. I'm grateful that I can welcome her to the podcast. 🏄‍♂️

  • Kasia Bradford | Thriving Solopreneur Podcast
    2024/05/07

Here's the 4th episode of the Thriving Solopreneur Podcast. Our guest is Kasia Bradford. 🥳

She's been an entrepreneur for 13 years and I haven't had an interaction with her that I didn't leave feeling inspired. i'm confident that I'll get her to share some nuggets from her jorney with us:

Her journey is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of leadership and personal empowerment.

As an immigrant teenager grappling with the challenges of a new world, overcoming a decade-long battle with an eating disorder, and enduring the heartache of a life-threatening pregnancy loss, she has encountered an odyssey of change.

Her life story is marked by pivotal transitions—from navigating the turbulence of ending a marriage and exiting a successful 25-year career in the CPA and IT sectors, to architecting a thriving coaching enterprise. This crucible of transformation ignited her quest to answer the profound question, "Who am I?"

Embracing her narrative of reinvention, she launched my life coaching practice 13 years ago, fueled by a driving force to share the life-altering influence coaching had in propelling her through career shifts, a divorce, corporate leadership roles, and the myriad challenges of creating and scaling a business as a single parent.

Her mission? To guide ambitious individuals on a journey from a state of stagnation and confusion to a peak of extraordinary achievement, equipping them to craft lives of unambiguous empowerment.

I'm delighted to have her on! Keep your ears peeled and notepads ready. 🤓

  • Kathryn Horler | Thriving Solopreneuer Podcast
    2024/05/06

Welcome to Thriving Solopreneur Podcast EP3 with Kathryn Horler!

Her story as an entrepreneur began back when her employer outsourced her IT job. A blessing in disguise, as she would later discover.

Following a traumatic divorce, she now runs a successful network marketing business. She has invested much time & money in personal development since & now has the pleasure of working with many of the friends she has made.

We'll be talking about the difference between the employee and self-employed mindset and the path we're led down from an early age (depending on our parents and close influencers' beliefs).

Her intention for the call is to "raise awareness that we're all capable of much more - we've set our own limitations."

I myself am curious to ask her about how she leads, inspires and nurtures her team.

I'm excited to have her on! Keep your ears peeled and notepad ready. 🤓

  • Creating Certainty During Challenging Times As An Entrepreneur (Why To Throw Your Television Out The Window)
    2024/04/22

As an entrepreneur and coach for 20 years John has quite an experience to share with us. We talked about the importance of having a strong WHY in entrepreneurship and how this can enable us to "keep going when the going gets tough". John stressed the need to do deeper work on ourselves if we want to maximize our positive impact on the world. This coupled with continuous learning (and application of what we learn!) can give us a distinct advantage in life and in business. Some of the highlights included: - How to start being more proactive, instead of reactive - Self-worth issues and how they can affect our business - The balance between finding out what YOU want to do, not being swayed by other people but still staying in touch with the world (and your customers/prospects). - The value of daily learning - The importance of maintaining an "entrepreneurial attitude", keeping our mind open to possibility and considering new solutions. Thus we can be resourceful even if our resources might be limited at the moment. - The fear of public speaking and how to trace it back to its roots and some ideas on how to overcome it (shadow work). He explained that the only fears we haven't learned is fear of loud noises and falling. He closed off with five practical tips: 1) "Take your television and throw it out of the window.", taking control of our information intake as this shapes our beliefs and how we perceive the world. Do we live in a friendly or an unfriendly universe? 2) Be selective about the food you eat. 3) Don't use a microwave. 4) Expand your mind and keep learning. John especially recommended the podcasts of Dr. Andrew Huberman and "Diary of a CEO", which he likes to listen to himself to learn new ideas. He also mentioned Teal Swan. 5) Daily meditation. That can also be going for a walk in nature. Find a way to detach from external stimuli. John likes to do Tai Chi. He also highlighted the impact of journaling. WHERE TO FIND JOHN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-farrell-emf https://www.facebook.com/johnfarrell.asia https://johnfarrellemf.substack.com/ TIMESTAMPS: Entrepreneur mindset 3:00 John discusses the importance of working on one's business, not in it. An entrepreneur must think about marketing and sales, not just production. New opportunities arise from making unexpected connections. Personal development and limiting beliefs 18:00 John coaches coaches to overcome self-worth issues and triggers, which stem from early life experiences. Personal development alone doesn't address underlying shadows. John helps clients understand root causes through metaphor and journaling. Media consumption and mental health 43:00 John advises limiting negative news exposure to avoid a fearful mindset. One cannot impact most issues reported. Podcasts offer objective expert discussions versus opinions. Applying meditation and mindfulness 1:08:00 Simple practices like daily meditation and Tai Chi center the mind. Viewing the world as friendly opens one to opportunities. Smiling at others spreads positivity. The future of work and AI 1:24:40 Rapid technological change makes planning difficult. John discusses AI's potential if guided ethically. Entrepreneurs must choose priorities like outsourcing tasks or specializing in new fields. One's "why" remains vital through uncertainty.

  • 7 Proven Tips On How To Succeed In Business | Chaminda Tennakoon on Thriving Solopreneur Podcast
    2024/04/08

Great kickoff to my podcast with an interview with Chaminda Tennakoon, an entrepreneur from the UK, originally from Sri Lanka. He tells the story of how in 2018 he started his second business and how it failed a few years later, around the same time he "discovered" that a divorce was happening. He lost his business, wife and house all at the same time. Subsequently Chaminda rebuilt his life and started the now successful organic marketing agency Chaminda Tennakoon Limited which he runs with his current partner. Here's an overview on his 7 Business Success Tips: 1. Goal writing - Write out your goals every day - keep writing until you start believing it - know where you're going 2. Learn - listen to people who have achieved what you want to achieve - Listen to a lot of audiobooks (Chaminda listens to 50-60 hours of them a month) - Cham loves Jim Rohn who is his "business guru" - Use NET time (no extra time) - while commuting - while gardening/doing housework - while exercising - Listening schedule (for spaced repetition, SQRRR), listen to the same audiobook: - 2x back-to-back - after 1 week - after 3 weeks - after a few months - he keeps track of that in Audible 3. Plan Your Days - Either the evening before or at the start of your day - Decide on a #1 priority and get this one done first (eat that frog) - rank goals in order of importance 4. Learn Sales - Listen to audiobooks on sales - Grant Cardone - Zig Ziglar - Brian Tracy 5. Action is the key - Ready, FIRE, Aim 6. Focus - Improve focus with fitness - Single-Task instead of multitasking 7. Responsibility - take it
