The Sabbath is Holy, meaning it has been set aside for the purpose of worship. We are invited to keep the Sabbath Holy. You can arrange the Day when you enter the Sabbath around acts of devotion to God. It is not like a day off, it is a day for us to intentionally enter into the worship of God.

Sabbath trains our hearts to live in the truth that we are way more than what we produce, we are who we are loved by. The Systems of the world, the devil and our flesh wants to keep us as slaves of productivity and desire. Sabbath is warfare against that. In the end, a people formed by Sabbath keeping learn to deeply trust God and be truly content.

A time to stop and rest, the Sabbath is firstly a gift from God and a rhythm in creation before it is a commandment

. Keeping the Sabbath can be life giving. And so as God rested he was equally creating and baking into the rhythm of creation itself Sabbath Rest.

It is not just that God is inviting the poor and the hungry to his table, it I that He is expecting us to invite the poor and the hungry to ours and use our tables as means of Kingdom Justice.

We cannot follow Jesus and ignore the acts of Hospitality. And this includes hospitality to our neighbours Jesus unversilaises neighbour. And at the same time, it also means exactly the people right next to us. What does it look like fort us followers of Jesus to be hospitable to our spouses, siblings, next door neighbours, kid next door, roommates?
