    This documentary features experts and survivors of online gender-based violence in Kibera. They share their journey and experiences on how offline gender-based violence has translated to online gender-based violence and the effects both offline and online.

    This intervention aims to bring awareness to this vice which is crippling gender equity and help build the body of knowledge to further the issues and promote the creation of realistic interventions.

  • Safe Spaces

    In January 2022, Tanda Community Network (Tandanet), a Kibera-based community network that seeks to promote internet accessibility by providing network infrastructure and capacity building, hosted a 10-day workshop on digital inclusion for grassroots women in Kibera.

    33 women representatives from 7 feminist organizations in Kibera attended. They learned internet basics, an introduction to feminism and its history, feminist principles of the internet, safe spaces, and digital policy and institutional frameworks.

    Tandanet produced a four-part podcast series to wrap up the training with some women and ladies who attended the workshop. Listen to the conversations below. CIPESA supported the workshop.

    Ms Dotrilla is joined by 3 women from two local women's organizations - AWOCHE and Nivishe Foundation. The guests share about their work in regards to mental health, how they copped with the COVID-19 pandemic to implement their various projects, how they use social media to create awareness, the cost of internet connectivity, the importance of accessing the internet, and the main challenges that hinder young mothers from accessing the internet and digital gadgets (mostly smartphones).
