  • Le Fine Dining
    2024/09/11

In this hilarious episode of Twenty Going on Forty, Chris and Danielle take us on a wild trip that begins with refined dining in Italy and ends with a deep dive into the absurdity of children’s television.

Danielle kicks things off with her glamorous trip to Italy, complete with a meal at a five-star restaurant. She paints the scene beautifully, making you feel like you’re right there with her, basking in the Italian ambiance. But things take a turn for the hilarious when we find out exactly “what” was on the menu. Let’s just say the feathered friend in question was a bit of a surprise—cue Chris’s jaw-dropping and the ensuing banter as they try to figure out exactly “how” this bird made the cut at a five-star spot.

Chris and Danielle pivot to one of the most head-scratching children’s shows of all time—”Blu Chews”. If you’re unfamiliar with this forgotten gem that doesn’t really exist, ”Blu Chews” was a show that taught kids "the way of the streets." And by "streets," we mean some truly questionable life lessons from a tough-talking imaginary host.

Overall, this episode is a delightful mix of travel tales, unexpected dining adventures, and a trip down memory lane. Definitely not your typical fine dining review, but that’s exactly why we love it!

  • Things get bushy!
    2024/08/28

In this wild episode of “Twenty Going on Forty”, Chris and Danielle kick things off with a round of their favorite game, Either/Or. The burning question: would you rather fight a horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses? The debate gets scientific (and hilarious) as they weigh the pros and cons of battling these bizarre creatures.

Danielle then takes the reins with some surprising facts about the famous protected chickens in Ybor City. Things take a turn for the weird when the conversation spirals into a discussion about taking the tiny Key deer of Florida on a road trip to hang out with giant bucks up north.

But as usual, things don't stay on topic for long. Chris shares an unforgettable story about someone sneaking a cat into an Applebee's, which leads to a chaotic exchange of stories about the times they’ve been scared senseless by cats.

From battling oversized birds to dancing deer and sneaky cats, this episode brings the kind of chaos that only “Twenty Going on Forty” can deliver.

  • High Jinks and Ticklish Terrors: Chris’ Prankstravaganza
    2024/08/21

Ah, Episode 6, where the show finally hits its stride, or maybe just a different kind of high.

First, let's talk about Danielle, who’s clearly living her best life this episode by experiencing the, um, “elevated” state of being high on the devils lettuce. She’s gone full "weed guru" while Chris is playing the role of the world's most sober stoner. You’ve got to love the irony of Chris avoiding Mary Jane like it’s a pop quiz while Danielle's already graduated to valedictorian of "High School."

But hold on—things take an even weirder turn when we find out Chris has a particular fondness for tickling his 55-year-old male boss. Let that sink in for a moment. While we’re all processing that bizarre tidbit, the show decides to dive into a conversation about Chris’ legendary prankster days, because nothing follows workplace tickling better than juvenile hijinks.

And oh boy, the pranks. Yeah, Chris takes it to a whole new level. The first prank is straight out of a teenage horror film: pictures of penises (yes, plural) secretly taped onto a friend's sweater. Picture the poor unsuspecting friend pulling that sweater on, only to realize they're now the proud owner of the world's most unfortunate and awkward art collection. Chris may have missed his calling as a modern artist, though I’m not sure the world is ready for "Sweater of Shame" as an exhibit.

But the pièce de résistance has to be the superglue prank. If you thought superglue was just for fixing broken mugs, Chris is here to educate you. He and his buddies slap on some press-on nails to a friend's foot while the poor guy is snoozing. It’s unclear whether the friend woke up feeling fabulous or just utterly confused about their new fashion statement.

Just when you think the episode can’t get any more absurd, Chris decides to take advantage of Danielle’s, let’s say, enhanced state of mind. He concocts a story about an old man hiding in the room. Now, if you thought paranoid stoner paranoia was bad, wait until you see what happens when Danielle’s imagination runs wild.

In the end, Episode 6 leaves us with more questions than answers. Is Chris secretly a prank genius or just a menace to society? Has Danielle found inner peace or just the bottom of a bag of Doritos? Will the boss ever figure out why he’s suddenly so ticklish? One thing’s for sure—this episode is a masterclass in the kind of chaos that only “Twenty Going on Forty” can deliver.

  • Smelly Studios, Fishy Jobs, and Youthful Nuggets
    2024/08/14

In Episode 5 of Twenty Going on Forty, Danielle and Chris serve up another heaping helping of hilarity, awkwardness, and life lessons you didn’t ask for but are somehow glad you got.

The episode kicks off with a grand tour of Danielle’s state-of-the-art podcast studio, which has everything you’d expect—high-tech gadgets, sleek design, and... a smelly cat litter box.

The episode takes a deep dive into Danielle’s aquatic past, as she recounts her first job at an aquarium, where her love for fish (the tasty kind) began. It’s a tale of wonder, scales, and a slightly concerning obsession with skewered sea horses.

But just when you think it can't get any weirder, Chris takes the mic to share the sketchy life lessons he picked up as a busboy. Think of it as a crash course in "what not to do with your life," featuring how to safely do your first drug deal with a shotgun.

And just when you thought you were safe, Chris wraps up the episode with his top tips for keeping your testicles looking young well into your 40s. Yes, you read that right. It’s the skincare routine you never knew you needed and now can’t unhear.

Episode 5 is a blend of the bizarre, the smelly, and the surprisingly useful. It’s the kind of content you never knew you needed, delivered with the trademark humor and honesty that makes Twenty Going on Forty a must-listen. Don’t miss it—just maybe hold your nose during the studio tour!
