Upstream with a paddle and Anne Usher

  • サマリー

  • In episode 22 Cameron and James invite Anne Usher formally Dickins to take a seat with them. Prior to her impairment Anne was an avid cyclist which all ended one day when she bent over to put on her shoe. After suffering from the medical emergency of cauda equina syndrome, Anne was left with limitations in her lower limbs. These impairments resulted in Anne struggling with her passion of cycling. This did not deter her away from the sport as she turned her focus to being team GBs physiotherapist at the London 2012 olympic games. At these games she had a chance meeting with the GB Paracanoeing coach who encouraged her to try a new sport. Fast forward 4 years to Rio where Anne was successful in winning the Gold medal in the KL3 Paracanoeing and becoming Great Britain's 100th Medal of the games.

Since winning her Gold Medal Anne has become a Public and motivational speaker as well as a member of the superhero tri series. This amazing Concept established by fellow Paralympian Sophia Warner has changed many lives in the United Kingdom. During the Episode Anne explains how these events have built a community which now thrives in success.
