🟥 GUEST: WALKER HAYES
Walker Hayes is an American country music singer and songwriter, born on December 27, 1979, in Mobile, Alabama. He moved to Nashville in 2005 to pursue a career in music. Before making it big, Hayes faced many struggles, working in various jobs, including waiting tables, while trying to break into the industry.
His career took off in 2010 when he signed with Capitol Records and released his first single, "Pants," which charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Despite some early success, Hayes' journey was filled with ups and downs, including being dropped from his label and facing financial difficulties. However, he didn’t give up, continuing to write songs and develop his unique blend of country music with pop influences.
In 2017, Hayes' career saw a resurgence with the release of his album Boom. The single "You Broke Up with Me" became a breakthrough hit, reaching the top 10 on the country charts. His songwriting often blends clever lyrics with a conversational tone, resonating with a broad audience.
Hayes is perhaps best known for his viral 2021 hit "Fancy Like," which became a cultural phenomenon. The song, with its catchy lyrics about a simple, relatable life, skyrocketed to the top of the charts and even sparked a viral TikTok dance challenge. "Fancy Like" brought Hayes mainstream recognition, earning him multiple award nominations and collaborations.
Hayes' music often reflects his life experiences, including personal struggles, family life, and fatherhood. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Laney Beville Hayes, and they have six children. Beyond his chart-topping hits, Walker Hayes has built a reputation for perseverance and authenticity, connecting with fans through his storytelling and down-to-earth personality.
