The title for this podcast is Walking With Our Master. I take this opportunity to discuss with Brent Missildine, minister for the Prattville Church of Christ, what it means to walk with the Master.

In our conversation we look at various scriptures that use the expression walking with our Lord. We discuss what that expression means, who is our Master, how we walk with Him, and how we can return to walking with Him when we stray.

You might know someone struggling to walk with our Master. Perhaps you are challenged. The wonderful news is that our Lord invites all to walk with Him, even those that have rejected Him and want to regain their walk.

The Prattville church of Christ is a growing family. We have grown by reaching out into our community with the good news of God's grace and salvation. We have also been blessed by families growing and new families moving into our area and wanting to be a part of our efforts.

In this episode we are going to get to know Jim and Teresa Bitterman.

This wonderful family has been a part of our congregation for about a year after hearing about us and wanting to work with us. They have already made a tremendous and positive impact on us as we have come to know them. They share with us the love of our Lord in many ways. We especially see it in the joy they express to all.

On a personal note, they are part of our growth group so my wife and I have the opportunity to interact with them in that activity. Again, they always express the love and joy of our Lord as they encourage all of us as fellow Christians.

The word servant is a critical description for those who are disciples of our Lord. Sometimes that title is a formal one to describe those of our leadership but other times it is an earned title through the consistent efforts to show the grace, love, and compassion of our Lord.

Jeremy and Melenie Cleveland are such servants. They faithfully show the Lord to our community and beyond in many ways. They are a vital part of our membership and loved by those that know them. They are also a vital part of our community and the surrounding area. They use their opportunities in that capacity to also show our Lord to others.

In this episode you will get to meet this dynamic couple. They talk a bit about themselves, their involvement, and why the Prattville church family is so special.

A personal story, I used to hand out stickers to our children in the congregation. The Cleveland's daughter, Shanna would come to me for stickers on Sunday mornings. One day she didn't so I asked her did she want some stickers. She looked at me with the sweet eyes of hers and said, "No Mr. Dave, I'm too old for stickers." Now we see her going off to college and making her way in the world. What a joy it is to see that.

It seems like I am repeating myself as I say that the family at the Prattville church of Christ is made of many wonderful members. It also seems like an understatement. We have such a wide variety of backgrounds that blend together to bring their strengths to showing the grace, love, and compassion of our Lord in their lives.

One wonderful couple that we love dearly is Clip and Glenna Knapp. This couple have served our Lord and our congregation for many years. Even while they were away from us for a while they remained in contact and part of us.

In this episode we learn a little bit about this couple. We see in them the dedication they have for our Lord, our membership, and our community through their direct involvement at many levels. I encourage you to listen and see why they are loved so much by so many.

Sometimes I think of the Prattville church of Christ as a treasure chest full of precious gems. One such gem is our beloved Raymond Elliott. Raymond has given his entire life to serving our Lord and His church. We have enjoyed the company and encouragement of Raymond and Miss Virginia for many years. He is a shepherd, counselor, confidant, encourager, and leader. I have enjoyed having him as a personal mentor in my walk of faith.

It is a joy for me to have a conversation with this wonderful man as we talk about using the talents, great and small, that God has blessed us with.

I've stated many times that service to our Lord takes many forms. We must serve as we are able. God doesn't state in a specific way what He expects as service. Rather He says to use what He has gifted us with and to do so with love and to glorify Him.

In this episode I have the honor and joy of interviewing my wife, Lynne. We will talk about her personal ministry of creating beautiful greeting cards. Sometimes the cards are also included in some of our other outreach activities such as our meals program and to welcome our visitors.

As you listen to her talk about this ministry and her gift for it, listen to the joy she communicates. Listen to the love for the ministry and for others. You too can experience that joy and love as you discover and use your gifts as together, we walk with our Master.

One of the strengths of the Prattville church of Christ is the way our families blend together as we serve our Lord. We have so many from different backgrounds, cultures, education levels, and so many other elements. We also have some historical (and some hysterical) members. One such family at Prattville is Kurt and Debbie Cammack. This remarkable couple came to our congregation when we needed them the most. I am a big believer is God’s providence and I see it working through this couple.

In this episode we learn about Kurt and Debbie and why we love them so much as a vital part of our family at Prattville. We will learn something about them personally and how they view their role in our family.
