I will also go over some feng shui "don'ts" or "no-nos" that should be avoided (if and when possible); they can create negative energy and cause chi blockages.

What is Feng Shui?

Feng shui (pronounced fung shway) is an ancient art that uses layout, color, and the placement of objects, to form an environment that supports an individual's well-being. Emphasis is heavily placed on intentionality, especially when decorating and bringing new objects into a space. Clutter is representative of obstacles, both in a physical sense (ex. blocking narrow hallways or entryways) and a metaphorical sense (ex. experiencing setbacks and hurdles in life).

Why is Feng Shui Important?

It is strongly believed that feng shui affects every aspect of a person's life, especially his/her level of material comfort. When practiced properly, it can elicit feelings of control, stability, safety, and empowerment. Generally, feng shui is used to improve one's health, happiness, luck, and prosperity.

Remember that many of these principles won't apply to everyone the same way. Feel free to adapt them to suit your preferences and needs. The point is to make it work for you, your goals, and your desires.
