    2024/10/15

Welcome to Season 3 of What the Chel! I am so excited to start talking at you again and seeing where the third iteration of this little podcast takes us because, as they say, third time's the charm. This week, I'm recapping the 3 biggest things that happened this offseason, sharing 3 predictions for the upcoming year, and manifesting 3 goals for WTC. 3 has always been a lucky number for me!

  • 54. Hockey is Indigenous!
    2024/07/23

This week, I'm giving you a surface-level look into the very deep roots of hockey in Indigenous communities, specifically the Mi'kmaq Nation. Though it has been debated, there is more and more compelling evidence that we have Indigenous communities to thank for the sport we all know and love. From the earliest ash sticks, to Fred Sasakamoose, to the 2024 NHL draft, both the past and the future of hockey is Indigenous!

  • 53. Glimmers of Hope
    2024/07/04

The offseason may have arrived, but I'm not going anywhere! This week I'm talking about the Stanley Cup Championship, 2024 draft, free agency deadline, and so much more. I'm giving you a little recap on things you may have missed with all that's going on across the league, and sharing the little glimmers of hope we're seeing in making the sport of hockey more diverse, inclusive, and equal. I'm also taking a moment of silence for one of the most heartbreaking trades of all time. RIP Swaymark.

    2024/05/17

This week, I'm chatting with Lacey of Double Hockey Stix! Lacey is a dear friend, fellow Ducks fan, and small business owner who creates unique hockey merch and advocates for marginalized communities in the sport through her DHS platform. We're talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly of the hockey world, being a small business owner, and existing as a marginalized person in a community that doesn't always welcome you. We're also laughing a lot, gushing over Jamie Drysdale, and spilling some tea on the Chicago Blackhawks.
