Wonders of the Human Brain

  • サマリー

  • The brain is fascinating, and we love discussions about neuroscience and how the brain works. That's why we were super excited to talk with Dr. Melissa Hughes, author of Happy Hour with Einstein and Happier Hour with Einstein, Another Round. Melissa has worked with everyone from students in a classroom to boardrooms in Fortune 1000 companies.  She combines her PhD in education with her vast experience in marketing communications with extensive research in neuroscience and behavioral psychology to share simple, applicable strategies that improve outcomes both at work and in our personal lives.  In the episode, Melissa explains how to manage stress and uncertainty and navigating the "us" vs. "them" mentality that has been so prevalent today.  We discuss how making connections with other human beings releases oxytocin in the brain, not only leaving you feel good, but also creating a chemical change in the other person's brain as well! Thanks to this conversation with Melissa, we created the Bumblebee Project! We also talk about the genesis of her book Happier Hour with Einstein, why doodling is a good thing, and why the Charlie Brown Christmas tree makes the perfect metaphor for neural connections! Join us for this fun and illuminating episode!
