  • サマリー

  • "Ananya and Sanjoli Banerjee, two sisters of age 17 and 21 respectively are social activists. Ananya is in Grade 12 with Humanities and Sanjoli is an Alumina of Australian National University and is currently pirsuing Masters of Social Work at Christ University. They are known as Activists Sister, started campaigning against female foeticide and climate change at the age of just 5 after a personal encounter with female foeticide. Sanjoli at the age of just 7 was awarded 'Exceptional Child Award' by the Government of Haryana for her contribution in community service. These sisters have directed a documentary on Climate change by the name, 'Earth In Flames' and went on 4500km road expedition across 7 states of India with the message, 'Save Daughters, Save Earth'. They have founded an open-air free mobile school, SUSHIKSHA in December 2019 in Village Darar in Karnal. There, they along with volunteers teach the students various subjects and also make them aware about political rights, mentrual hygiene, mental health and environment. The aim is to promote holistic education and for all especially for those who come from marginalised groups of society like Dalits (lower caste) or the poor. Most interestingly, they have been teaching during the pandemic to make sure that none quits education to earn rather wants them to be educated enough to get a job. Their aim is to see their students as educated responsible and constructive citizens who become assets for the world instead of liability."
