Claire and Ben talk about treating a 'Howard' in this episode. Move over Karen, Howard is the star of the show in this one! Howard is the male pseudonym Claire gives for difficult patients that make you question your ability to be a good hygienist or therapist.

We have all been there- treating a patient who has had us on the verge of tears. Embrace it as a learning opportunity and that way it cannot be a negative work experience. We can become a better clinician for it. We have all had our 'Howards' and 'Karens', but it is how we chose to reflect on these appointments afterwards that affects our worth, not the patient. Don't let a patient with a bad attitude dictate how you feel about yourself as a clinician!

The Agony Aunt/ Agony Uncle this week is about receiving feedback from colleagues. Claire and Ben discuss a listeners issue with a colleague criticising their decision making when it comes to recalls.
