blythe - Learning To Be Yourself In Music

  • サマリー

  • Podcast Overview: In this engaging conversation, Will Clarke and Blythe explore the intricacies of the music industry, the importance of authentic connections, and the challenges artists face in a rapidly changing landscape. They discuss the impact of mental health on creativity, the evolution of music creation, and the significance of collaboration. Blythe shares her personal journey of self-discovery and overcoming imposter syndrome, while also emphasizing the need for more support for artists, especially those who are older. The conversation culminates in a call to action for listeners to appreciate the value of art and connection in their lives.

Who Is blythe: Blythe Pepino is a singer, a songwriter, a front woman, an activist and a choir leader. She fronts the band Mesadorm – an alt acoustic-electro indie band which has been hailed on BBC Radio 6 and whose debut album was marked as one of the best alternative albums of 2018 by the Guardian. She writes music in her studio, often on her piano, which can end up in any number of articulations on stage or on the street. Her voice is versatile in emotion as it is in range and tone. Although she has graced stadium size venues in the past she has always coveted smaller intimate gigs and these days prioritises the connection between audience and performer, the communication and the catharsis that can take place or in her words “the laughter in the crying”.
