The mysteries surrounding the deaths of nine young, experienced ski hikers in 1959 have never been solved. For the month of October 2017, J. Ellington Ashton Press, on their Wicked Little Things blog-talk radio, broadcasted a series of Halloween stories. These “Fireside Stories” (as they were called) were a big hit with the listeners, and the decision was quickly made to publish these tales of terror in an anthology.

It is highly unusual for a victim of domestic violence, especially in a case of near-death, to flip on the abuser and play a part in his death (self-defense), but this is a case of that happening, although there were others involved and they indirectly helped a man to die.
