Tye Watkins is a scout for Fort Clark, Texas, who uses his skills to work his way through one adventure after another. In this book, Tye is tracking a band of outlaws who robbed and murdered a rancher's wife and son. Adam Carter, one of the men Tye is after, worked for the rancher, and was coerced into the robbery by his so-called "friends". Along the trails certain events occur that have Tye thinking that Adam isn't the cold-hearted killer he originally made him out to be.

Fort Clark was regarrisoned in 1866 and the history of Fort Clark was filled with clashes with the Apache, occasionally with the Comanche, and always with the bandit gangs that crossed freely back and forth across the Border, preying on the homesteaders. The Tye Wakins Series of books attempt to portray this danger. The stories center on Tye, who is Chief of Scouts at Clark in 1868. He is continually putting himself at risk trying to protect the homesteaders living in the area as well as keeping the troops out of harm's way.

They hated the Union and they, along with their gang of thieves, rapist, and killers, were raising hell along the border close to Fort Clark. When they robbed a saloon in Brackett and killed two soldiers along with several townspeople, an Calvary patrol, with Tye scouting, was dispatched to bring them in - dead or alive.

Tye was on his way back to Fort Clark from San Antonio - where he had spent his honeymoon - when he heard of more Apache trouble. A young buck, Grey Owl, was leading several young Apaches and raising bloody hell along the border. Upon his arrival back at Fort Clark, he would be scouting for a large patrol pursuing the Apaches. While in pursuit, he finds the Apaches he is tracking have been joined by another group of warriors.

John Whyte, the estranged, youngest brother of the Duke of Bransworth, and late Colonel of the First Brigade, Michigan Volunteer Cavalry during the Civil War, is at loose ends. The war has ended and he has tragically lost his fiancée to a needless attack by a wayward confederate soldier. Our American West, Volume 2 begins with America’s first colonizers, the prairie dogs, and how out on the ranges they were so hated by ranchers that they were almost made extinct. Conestoga Wagons were once called “prairie schooners” crossing America long before the famed Pony Express. The indomitable courage of Sarah Winnemucca, the “Prairie Princess” rivals that of a tall Swede named Showshoe Thompson who skied the snowy river passes of the Sierra Nevadas.

This is a collection of stories I have written throughout the years. They are all short stories with some being longer than others and none of them having any chapters.
