Lucy Kincaid wanted a simple life with a white picket fence, but once Jens took her to Undraland, she knew that wouldn't be in the cards. Learning to maneuver the landmines of lap-landing with her boyfriend's best friend is more than Lucy bargained for. Prince Jamie has access to Lucy's every thought, making it impossible to have a moment to herself or run away from her problems.

With her guardian gnome MIA, Lucy has to learn to work with the one person who hates her most, leading her to make dark decisions she never would have considered. Foss takes Lucy through the dangerous parts of his land as they fight with and for each other. The angry Fossegrim sacrifices much, hoping the woman he despises will somehow prove herself worthy of fighting by his side.

Lucy and her merry band of thieves are certain that if they can survive the farlig fisk, nothing is too great to tear them apart. They never counted on their ship landing in Bedra, a land filled with women who use lavender powder to suck the wills from the strongest of men. Jens faces his greatest test as he tries to make it out of Bedra unscathed by the manipulative Mares. Tensions run high as laplanding takes Lucy and Jamie to a whole new level of angst that they must work through together.

With the joy of leaving Undraland behind, the anticipation of returning back to the Other Side, where Lucy is most familiar, has everyone in high spirits. Soon she realizes that there will be no white picket fence, no home, and no life until the final portal to the Land of Be is destroyed. Pesta uses every tool at her disposal to claw at Lucy, stopping at nothing to take down the one girl who's managed to escape her clutches time and time again.

Lucy Kincaid expected to be able to keep her secret to herself, but when it's found out she has Siren blood from Pesta, the group turns on her. Jens disappears, Foss turns cold, and Britta leaves the group. When a darkness starts to grow in Jamie, Lucy suspects foul play. Her favorite prince uses his direct link to Lucy to torture her from the inside out. When Tucker makes an attempt on her life, Lucy must decide if her Merry Band of Thieves is worth saving.

After Tucker's betrayal, Lucy finds herself underground, imprisoned by the surviving Sirens. She clings to Jamie in her mind as she endures mental and physical torture when they try to break her spirit, and her laplanding bond to Jamie.

Lucy Kincaid swore she'd never go back to Undraland, but with her mother's promise of possibly finding Linus buried there, Lucy knows she has no choice. She'll stop at nothing to unearth her brother, even if Jens thinks she's lost her mind.

With Linus by her side, what could go wrong? Struggling to keep up with the Merry Band of Thieves is hard enough without factoring in all the different ways things could go wrong when Lucy attempts to unearth her long-lost brother.
