Back in 2011, he played in Road Hockey, joining on a whim after hearing about it on the radio because he liked hockey and wanted the chance to meet some of his NHL heroes. 13 years later, his mindset towards the event has changed drastically. His family has lost many loved ones to cancer and last year his Mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. In 2023, their family was thrilled to see her finish her Chemotherapy. In 2024, he raised funds in Road Hockey on behalf of his Pa whose been diagnosed with Leukemia. After a month in the hospital, he is home recovering and receiving treatment, but it is an uphill battle.
